There is a folk theory that Emperor Jianwen did not die at that time, but fled from Nanjing and ran to a temple in Guizhou to become a monk. After Zhu Yunjiao opened it, he saw that there were three sets of robes, three degrees, and one razor, and the names of Ying Xian, Ying Neng, and Ying Wen were written on the three plates. Ying Wen refers to Zhu Yunxiong, and Ying Xian and Ying Neng refer to Zhu Yunjiao's two close associates, Yang Yingneng and Ye Xixian.
There was also a letter left in the box, which read: "Ying Wen came out of the ghost gate, Yu walked from the water pass royal ditch, Bo Twilight, will be in the west room of God's optimism." It means that there is a secret passage called "Ghost Gate" in the palace, and the former emperor has long expected that there will be a day today, so he specially prepared a back road for his grandson Zhu Yunjiao.
In order to cover her grandson's escape, Empress Ma deliberately set fire to the palace, and she herself jumped into the sea of fire and martyred herself. Emperor Jianwen, who escaped from the "Ghost Gate" from the palace, lived a monastic life with two of his cronies.
There is also a theory that Zhu Yunjiao fled to the Quanzhou area of Fujian Province and fled overseas with ships, while Zheng He of the Ming Dynasty went to the West seven times to find the whereabouts of The Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunjiao. Of course, this is also a guess, but it is by no means a TV series that travels back to the modern era.
In history, in addition to zhu Yunjiao's whereabouts are unknown, there is another woman who also suffered this fate, she is Xi Shi. Historically, Xi Shi was sent to the State of Wu by king Yue together with Zheng Dan to corrupt the mind of King Fuchai of Wu with beauty. After the beauty plan worked, Gou Jian was able to annihilate wu in one fell swoop, and Fu Cha also drew his sword in shame and killed himself.
After the end of the war, Xi Shi's whereabouts are unknown. But no matter which one it is, Xi Shi and Zhu Yunjiao's ending is the same, they don't see people in life, and they don't see corpses when they die. In this way, they became an unsolved mystery in Chinese history. To this day, historians still have no accurate conclusions about their whereabouts.
