Time flies so fast, the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Shanghai Xiqu Art Center! This decade is only a small point in the entire history of Chinese opera, but it is of great milestone significance for the growth and development of several opera troupes in Shanghai. In the past ten years, under the direct leadership of the center and under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and other higher-level departments, the comrades-in-arms of the six courtyards and regiments have moved forward together, thought together, struggled together, and survived the cold winter of the epidemic together, with a backbone in the face of the increasingly lively performance market, with confidence and strength in the face of the rapidly changing rhythm of the times, and with a strong sense of warmth and dependence in their hearts.

Once we were weak, single group riding alone, is more than enough and insufficient strength, the establishment of the Xiqu Art Center is opportune, it turned into a piece of talent and resources for integration and conversion, not only played the advantages of the various academies and groups, enhanced interaction and exchanges, as a "combination fist" more represents the overall image of Shanghai opera, comprehensive strength, become a unique scenery of Shanghai culture, but also for the modern magic city to add a classical charm. This is extremely beneficial for the long-term development of each genre.

We are well aware that development must look forward, but the standards and principles of integrity and innovation cannot be lost, the ontology and tradition of various dramas cannot be lost, and the measure and scale of the original source cannot be lost. Ten years of trees, a hundred years to tree people. Nowadays, the hardware conditions of all colleges and regiments have been improved, and the days are better, but the burden on our bodies is still very heavy! As an opera person, we must first overcome impetuosity, immerse ourselves in practice, and set high standards and strict requirements on ourselves in virtue. Opera is about truth, goodness and beauty, preaching benevolence, righteousness, wisdom and faith, positive energy, and the pursuit of upward goodness, we must not only act like this in the play, but also do it outside the play! Virtue is the foundation of the body, virtue and art are both sincere, and virtue is always the first!

As an opera veteran, now my stage focus has shifted, although I am not fighting in the front line, nor do I bring a team, but in terms of inheritance and the promotion of young people, we should spare no effort to do more things, so that young people can become talents and become great talents as soon as possible. Not only to teach them skills and provide opportunities, but also to let them know the history of opera over the past hundred years and the experiences of their predecessors. Opera is a very comprehensive art, in addition to young actors, screenwriters, directors, composers, music, stage artists and other talent training must also keep up, to create opportunities for them, provide a platform, mobilize enthusiasm, so that young opera people shine and stand out as soon as possible!

Looking back and looking ahead, this decade has only just begun, and we will certainly encounter different problems and challenges in the future. As General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Eleventh National Congress of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Tenth National Congress of the China Writers Association, the vast number of literary and art workers must have confidence and ambition. The new era needs a literary and artistic peak, and it can also cast a literary and artistic peak! We must strengthen this confidence!
