Ten days to talk about | Wang Rugang: a big stage on paper

I had a life of ups and downs: when I was 14 years old, my family was forced to sweep out the house and move into the small attic of the dangerous house; at the age of 16, I left my hometown and went to the backwoods of the poor countryside to settle in the team, planting seedlings, farming, raising pigs, and herding cattle. A few years later, when I returned to bustling Shanghai and looked at the concrete floor where crops could not grow, my heart was full of wandering: Can crops be grown here? Can I feed chickens and raise pigs? What else can I do?

Later, I was assigned to work in the factory, and my heart was full of joy: I finally became a working class, and it would be better if I had the opportunity to go to the army, and I could practice the three major undertakings of workers, farmers and soldiers. However, this dream can never be realized, and the family origin is a heavy burden, and I am not qualified to serve in the military to defend my country.

Because I performed well and belonged to the "children who can be educated well", the leadership trained me to become a factory doctor, which was really gratifying. Who knows, my mother died suddenly. Guarding the image of his mother, his heart was in pain. Looking at the elderly father, wanting to cry without tears, I really can't find a comforting language, father and son rely on each other, and the family rarely laughs.

One day in the spring of 1982, when I came home from work, my father showed a rare smile and said to me: "These old horses in the central government have gone out of the mountains again." I understood the connotation of this sentence: "The Party Central Committee has put the chaos right, and the old chief has resumed his work." I asked, "Where's the news?" The father took out a copy of the "Xinmin Evening News" that emitted ink and said, "Oh, this is not gossip." "It turned out that the Xinmin Evening News, which has special feelings in the minds of Shanghainese, has been revived.

Since then, queuing up every afternoon to buy "Xinmin Evening News" has become my father's homework, windy and rainy, and I am happy to do it. When the factory is closed, I will take the initiative to undertake it. Over the course of time, I have met many "platoon friends". For example, the female chef of the Post and Telecommunications Bureau's "Huifeng Building" at the Door Halal Restaurant is an enthusiastic reader, and everyone introduces: "What tastes best?" The Xinmin Evening News on the beach and the silver silk rolls and beef soup buns in the Huifeng Building. ”

Seriously, since I had Xinmin Evening News, my family has become lively. The neighbor came to the door with a smile: "Is it okay to borrow a "Xinmin Evening News", I am addicted to it." The generous father always gave in: "Take it and see it." I muttered incomprehensibly, "Wouldn't you order a newspaper at home?" My father explained to me: "Subscribing to the Xinmin Evening News is not an easy thing to do. ”

The burlesque new drama "The Voice of Shanghai" that is being staged

Originally, my father and I were 50 years apart in age, he was engaged in engineering and architecture, I liked culture and art, and the two did not have much common language. Since the "Xinmin Evening News" entered the house, the content of the father-son conversation has increased a lot, especially when I see the subject of common concern, I will discuss it, at this time, I realized that my usually taciturn father learned a lot. Once, the evening newspaper published an article about Yangchun noodles, which aroused my father's memories, he told me: Since I grew up living in Tushan Bay near Xujiahui, the local people called "Yangchun noodles" "Yangqing noodles", while foreign priests called them "onion noodles"... I listened interestingly and wrote a letter with a pen talking about "Yang Chun Noodles". The envelope reads: "Xinmin Evening News", even if it is done. The next day, I threw the letter into the mailbox. For the next few days, I foolishly waited for a reply. Who knows, there is no news. I remembered how similar this situation was to Chekhov's novel "Vanka": the grandson apprenticed in the boot shop, wrote to his grandfather to complain, and the envelope read: Grandpa in the country received, thinking that Grandpa would definitely receive, who knows... Alas, I did such a childish and ridiculous thing. After my father found out, he did not make fun of me, but only said to me: "Doing things will not be successful in one step, and if you persist, there will be results..."

After I started my career, I had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Shen Shijia, a master of Chinese painting, who proudly held up the Xinmin Evening News and said to me: "Students do not go out, they can know the world's affairs, they want to know the world's affairs, and they read newspapers every day." He encouraged me to write, and even wrote in his own handwriting "The True Colors of the Laughing Stars in the World of Witty Words, Intended to Be Bodhisattva Hearts Outside words" to give to me. In this way, I began to write some short articles and submit them to the "Luminous Cup". Over the past forty years, from buying newspapers and reading newspapers to writing for Xinmin Evening News, I know in my heart that words are not my strong point, and I sincerely thank Xinmin Evening News for its love and provide me with a "big stage on paper" to tell Chinese stories well.
