On the occasion of the Lantern Festival, half of the Shanghai comedians will gather at the Oriental Art Center to present a table of "Haipai New Year Flavor" feast rich in Shanghai's local cultural characteristics. On February 26th and 27th, the Happy Lantern Festival brought by the Shanghai One-Legged Opera Art Heritage Center will accompany the Shanghai audience to rejoice and celebrate the Lantern Festival.
As the bearer of Shanghai culture, one-legged opera and burlesque opera have grown together with the city of Shanghai and are popular genres of opera and art dramas loved by local audiences. On the stage of the Famous Oriental Drama Month over the years, from the classic burlesque drama "Seventy-Two Tenants" and "The Emperor Is Not anxious Eunuch" to "The Voice of Shanghai" and "Old Trees and New Flowers Traditional Burlesque Shows", they are always popular at the box office.
There was a downturn in burlesque dramas, and in the past two years, the one-legged play "The Laughter of Shikumen" has gradually become a phenomenon-level work. On the one hand, the persistence and efforts of Shanghai burlesque people deserve to be seen by more people; on the other hand, Shanghai opera, Shanghai rap, Pudong storytelling, one-legged drama, and burlesque opera are all "new year goods at the bottom of the box" that belong to Shanghai, and if they are not appreciated during the Spring Festival, it is a big regret.
At the Lantern Festival, jointly curated by Dongyi and the Shanghai One-Legged Opera Art Heritage Center, Artists from Shanghai school such as Wang Rugang, Pan Qianwei, Cao Xiong, Qian Yi, Chen Liang, Chen Guoqing, Tao Dexing, and Xue Wenbin will bring new and old burlesque scenes. Classic works such as Wang Rugang and Zeng Yi's "New Nanny", Chen Liang and Pan Qianwei's "Wusong Fighting Tiger", Chen Guoqing's "Wishing you prosperity", Qian Yi and Tao Dexing's "Packaging" and other classic works reproduce the style; "Praise Shanghai", "Ala Shanghainese", "Looking Back at 40" and other programs have a unique current flavor, allowing the audience to feel the unique style of Haipai culture while restoring the authentic mellow Shanghai New Year flavor.
As Wang Rugang, the inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project "One-legged Play", a national first-class actor and the director of the Shanghai One-Legged Opera Art Inheritance Center, said, The Culture of Shanghai School, local languages, and burlesque arts have all been nurtured, precipitated and grown up over the years in the city of Shanghai, and people living on this land must inherit and develop them. Only in this way will the "Haipai Nian Flavor" that many people are looking for and is difficult to give up will be more intense and long-lasting.
