On September 13th, the Shanghai exhibition of outstanding new stage works of "Art Rising Forward" will be held in Shanghai and will last until November.
During the performance, 14 plays from Beijing, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Shanghai and other places will be assembled to appear on the Shencheng Stage, and all the plays participating in the performances will be domestic originals.
Changzhou Burlesque Troupe's "Chen Yisheng's Eating Problem" will be unveiled at the Shanghai Grand Theatre on September 17 as one of the participating plays.
In 2018, in order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the Changzhou Burlesque Troupe created the burlesque play "Chen Yisheng's Eating Problem" based on the character prototype "Chen Yisheng" in the novel "Chen Yisheng Shangcheng" by Gao Xiaosheng, a famous writer from Changzhou. The main creative lineup of the whole play is very strong, gathering the best team in the theater industry to create this burlesque. Wang Hong, former director of the General Political Drama Troupe, served as the screenwriter and co-wrote the script with Zhang Jun, a young screenwriter of the Changzhou Culture and Art Research Institute. Hu Zongqi, a first-class director of the General Political Affairs Opera Troupe, served as the director, and Huang Haiwei, a famous stage art designer in China, served as the stage artist.

In April 2019, the burlesque play "Chen Yisheng's Eating Problem" completed its premiere in Changzhou, and since then it has triggered a boom in performances everywhere, and experts have highly praised this "confluence of contemporary drama and literature", and the audience has been deeply moved by this "laughter with tears" comedy.
