"Flying Over the Seventh Bridge", which started the rehearsal this year, starred Shen Huiqin, Shanghai opera performance artist Chen Yu, national first-class actors Li Jianhua, Wu Meiying and Gu Kai and a number of outstanding young actors participated in the performance, written by Zhang Yu, directed by Lu Ang, and composed by Ru Jinshan. "Flying Over the Seventh Bridge" is based on the liberation of Shanghai and the decisive battle of the "Seven Bridge" bunker in Qibao Town, with a closed rehearsal on May 15 and a premiere at the Huiyin Theater at the end of June. Shen Huiqin led the crew to visit Yang Deming, a 93-year-old old underground party member, and listened to the old revolutionary tell about the battle that year.

This weekend, the New Dongyuan Shanghai Opera Troupe completed "Great Thunderstorm" and "Ah, Mother! Chen Yu, Qian Sijian, Wu Meiying, Li Jianhua, Ling Yuegang and other joint performances. For "The Great Thunderstorm", Shen Huiqin has special feelings. In 1978, she entered the Shanghai opera industry, under the tutelage of performance artist Zhu Huiqin, and teachers and students rehearsed "The Great Thunderstorm" on the same stage. Shen Huiqin plays Ma Huimin, a new young man who dares to fight against the feudal system. Under the leadership of Famous Shanghai opera artists such as Zhu Huiqin and Shen Renwei, "The Great Thunderstorm" was successful as soon as it was staged, becoming one of Shen Huiqin's most memorable artistic experiences. Many years later, Shen Huiqin, who abandoned art and business, returned to the Shanghai opera stage, and the first big drama she performed was "The Great Thunderstorm", but her role became Liu Ruolan, which was also a classic role created by Zhu Huiqin before her death. Shen Huiqin repeatedly pondered and practiced according to the information left by her mentor, and calmly completed the challenge. In 2014, she invested 2 million yuan to create a large-scale modern Shanghai opera "Dream Home" on the topic of pension, and in 2016, the New Dongyuan Shanghai Opera Troupe was born, rehearsing "Dream Home", "A Thousand Lines of Tears in the Heart", "Clear River Water", "Ah, Mother! and several classic folding plays. In 2020, the troupe created an original anti-epidemic drama "One River, Two Rivers" and the big drama "Magnolia Blossom". Every year, nearly 200 community cultural centers in the city are distributed and performed, and the New Dongyuan Shanghai Opera Troupe has been rated as an excellent private theater troupe in Shanghai for three consecutive years. Shen Huiqin said, "Learn from Teacher Zhu Huiqin. It is our responsibility and obligation to repay the motherland and give back to the society with our own strength. ”

It is precisely out of the concept of reflecting the present and giving back to the society that the drama-oriented Shangyi Drama Club launched the burlesque play "Eight Feet in the Air", which occupied a place for the private theater troupe in the "Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China New Stage Art Exhibition Season". The whole building wants to install an elevator, only the first floor does not agree, which is the livelihood problem faced by many old public housing residents... The Haipai urban burlesque drama "Eight Feet in the Air" unfolds with this as suspense, and recently produced a community version, which delivers the grounded theme and the burlesque drama that the audience likes to see to the doorstep of the people.

Yuan Dong, president of Shangyi Drama Society, introduced that "Eight Feet In the Air" concentrates the outstanding actors of Shanghai Burlesque Troupe, Shanghai People's Burlesque Troupe and the former Shanghai Qingyi Burlesque Troupe, such as comedians Gong Renlong and Xu Haili, as well as familiar faces Wang Wenli, Zhou Yilun, Luo Wenlian, Xue Wenbin, Yu Ya and other stars in "Old Lady Uncle". The play shows the entanglements, conflicts, troubles and joys of ordinary people through the differences between more than 10 residents in a six-story house built in the 1980s. In the play, there are not only praises for the good feelings of ordinary people, but also thinking about how to build a new type of neighborhood relationship. "'Eight Feet in the Air' is a new citizen comedy and the feelings of ordinary people, and it has achieved 'carrying the funny to the end'." After watching the play, literary and art critic Mao Shi'an said that burlesque plays must attract young people in order to develop and have a future, and "Eight Feet in the Air" has done this.

At the end of last year, "Eight Feet in the Air" was invited to the Yangtze River Delta as the award-winning work of Shanghai Excellent Private Theater Troupe, which resonated in the Yangtze River Delta region. Many viewers laughed and sighed, "Shanghai burlesque drama has reached our hearts." This year, in order to welcome the performance, "Eight Feet in the Air" has been further polished and improved, making the laughter more concentrated and the plot rhythm more bright. "Attract new audiences who have never seen burlesque, and make old audiences who love to watch burlesque laugh even more." Yuan Dong said.
