The main reason why the Battle of Shuangduiji was fought so hard was because the 18th Army, one of the five main forces of the 12th Corps, was carrying it to death. The 18th Army is the starting unit of the Civil Engineering Department, this unit has high individual quality, strong combat effectiveness, and excellent equipment, and is not easy to deal with than the previous Zhang Lingfu Reorganized 74th Division. On December 9, 1948, the 58th Regiment and the 60th Regiment of the 20th Division of the Seventh Column of Huaye launched a strong attack on Dawangzhuang under the cover of artillery fire, and at the beginning, because our army was very strong, they drove out the 33rd Regiment in one breath. Hu Lian immediately ordered the 18th Army to concentrate artillery fire for support, and the commander of the 33rd Regiment launched more than a dozen attacks on Dawangzhuang in one breath, and the troops of our army that invaded Dawangzhuang suffered heavy losses, and finally only the 59th Regiment retreated to the southwest corner of Dawangzhuang to defend.
Unable to attack for a long time, wang Jinshan, commander of the sixth column, ordered the 46th regiment of the sixth column of Nakano to come to support, and the two units were strangled together as soon as they met. Melee night combat was originally a good play for our army, Nakano 46 Regiment also hoped to repel the Tiger Regiment through close combat, but did not expect that the ability of this unit to fight in close combat was also very strong, grenades, explosive packs, flamethrowers, mortar shells exploded one after another, and the whole Dawangzhuang was blown up and trembled.
At the final critical moment, the Seventh Column also sent the headquarters guard company up, and only a dozen soldiers of the 150-man guard company survived in the end, and the 33rd Regiment Company cooks, service soldiers, and automobile soldiers were all sent up, but they still did not stop the pace of the PLA's attack, and finally they were all annihilated. After the war, the entire Dawangzhuang was razed to the ground, and only a few ruins and broken walls remained in the village. At that time in Xiaowangzhuang was a main regiment of the 85th Army, which, after watching the battle nearby, surrendered to the Seventh Column of the People's Liberation Army Huaye.
