Zhang Ying, deputy chief physician of the Department of Pediatrics of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, rushed to Haihe Hospital on January 8 and threw herself into this sudden battle.

Li Xinmin, director of the Department of Pediatrics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who entered the "red zone" on January 10, also has the same feeling, "The children are too cooperative, too cute."
"The doctors and nurses were wearing protective suits, and the children couldn't see our faces clearly, but they were all doing very well. In addition to maintaining communication between medical staff and parents, the hospital also specially arranged for children to have more video calls with parents, so that parents can understand the situation of their children at the first time.

In order to fully rescue and treat infected children, Tianjin organized expert forces at the first time to determine the treatment plan. Today, there is a team of able medical staff composed of multiple hospitals, and the children are carefully treated.
After the Omicron raid on Tianjin, Zhang Boli, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has been busy studying the strategy of child treatment and has conducted two expert consultations. "Children's treatment is our current focus, we sent 3 chief physicians of TCM pediatrics to Tianjin Designated Hospital, and worked side by side with Western medicine pediatricians to implement one person, one policy for child patients, hoping that they will be cured as soon as possible."
The first children to enter Haihe Hospital have been treated for 6 days. At present, there are 37 children in Zhang Ying's ward. Initially, the clinical symptoms of children are mainly upper respiratory tract infections, nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, sore throat, and some have fever symptoms, but high fever is rare.

"There are more children infected with mild and asymptomatic children in this round of the epidemic, and very few ordinary children, and there are no very serious symptoms. Currently, there are several children who have a sputum cough, but it is not serious. Zhang Ying said.
At 8:00 a.m. on January 13, Zhang Ying and her colleagues were surprised to find that the children were getting better during a round of rooms in the "red area" of Haihe Hospital. "The feverish children's body temperature has basically returned to normal, and the cough symptoms have also subsided." Zhang Ying said.
"From the perspective of Western medicine treatment, we mainly observe and treat symptomatically, such as giving anti-fever medicine to children with fever, children with cough symptoms taking cough medicine, children with nasal congestion using nasal sprays, and letting children drink a lot of water." Zhang Ying said.
Zhang Boli believes that the characteristics of the Chinese medicine syndrome of Omicron are different, and in the past, the new coronavirus we called "wet poison epidemic", which is a kind of "wet evil", and wet poison contains lungs as its core feature. However, Omicron is the external sense of wind chill, wind bundle lung guard, "wind evil" characteristics are very obvious, patients headache, fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, less phlegm, phlegm is also white sputum, so the use of wind and cough, xuan lung solution of the drug effect is better.

According to the Tianjin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the initial cases came from custodial institutions and primary schools, and it was indeed because of the cluster, resulting in a relatively high proportion of children in the early stage of the epidemic. But as the epidemic continues to change, we have seen a gradual decline in the proportion of children in confirmed cases.
Zhang Boli believes that the first batch of infected people in the Tianjin epidemic occurred in the custody class, so there are more children, but it does not mean that the virus is more likely to invade children.
At the same time, experts also reminded that Aumechjong has ravaged the world, and has appeared in many places in China before this round of "attack" on Tianjin, so the treatment and protection of children cannot be taken lightly.
At present, Tianjin has set up a second ward for the treatment of children in Haihe Hospital to fully ensure the treatment of children. Zhang Ying reminded: "Many parents have a fluke mentality and feel that their children will not be infected. However, this time, the Aomi Kerong mutation showed strong invisibility and mild symptoms, which was easy to be ignored. She said that from the symptoms of children infected in Tianjin, such as sore throat, dry throat, cough and other symptoms should be vigilant, and relevant symptoms should be timely to go to regular hospitals for medical treatment.
At the same time, experts suggest that children wear masks, wash their hands frequently, gather less, and adjust their physical condition, and the protective measures previously taken are still effective for Aumi kerong.
