Looking back at 2021, the global automotive industry is struggling due to the impact of the epidemic, rising raw material prices and chip shortages, but it has become a historic year for new energy and smart vehicles.

In the field of new energy, the world's new energy head car companies broke through the market value of trillion US dollars for the first time, the head battery companies broke through the market value of trillions of yuan, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in a single car company approached the scale of one million units, and the sales of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 3 million for the first time, an increase of up to 170%, and the market penetration rate exceeded 10% for the first time.

In terms of intelligent networking, the market penetration rate of L2 passenger cars in China has reached 20%, more than 5 million vehicles equipped with 5G and LTE-V2X and other networked terminals, more than 5,000 kilometers of open road test mileage in the country, and more than 10 million kilometers of safe road testing.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Xia, president of the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and president of the China Chamber of International Commerce in the Automotive Industry, said that China's new energy and intelligent networked vehicles have gone through the initial stage of development, and are fully entering a new stage of development of higher quality, and showing a new development trend.

Wang Xia believes that the symbol of the new development stage is to completely shift from policy-driven to market-driven. The decomposition and landing of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals will have a profound impact on the development of new energy vehicles. At the same time, if you want to continue to lead the market, you can only innovate in technology and work the underlying technology and original innovation. In addition, in the initial stage, some business models have gone through the conceptual and exploration stages and begun to land from the air, such as the integrated mode of optical storage and charging, the power exchange mode, the battery bank, etc. Once these new models are transferred to stable commercial operations, they will definitely produce a new round of strong impetus for new energy vehicles.
