The most obvious feature of the camouflaged rear, the fusion of the double-segment roof bulge and the small rear wing, this design is derived from the BMW M1, which is a tribute to the designer's classic design. Unfortunately, we still don't see the interior of the spy car, from the interior drawings released by the concept car, XM will have a long continuous screen design, and the seat layout uses four seats. Then the actual mass production version, there will definitely be five versions launched, but there will be six versions for product expansion.
What we know at present is that bmw XM will be equipped with a new plug-in hybrid system, which will be composed of a twin-turbo V8 engine and a motor, and will most likely use a P2 structure, that is, a motor will be installed between the engine and the gearbox, and its comprehensive power will exceed 750 horsepower, and the comprehensive torque will reach 1000 Nm.
Regarding the battery pack, in the previous XM concept version conference, BMW said that the new car will be equipped with a 20 kWh capacity lithium battery pack after mass production, which will have a good endurance performance when matched with a gasoline engine.
BMW's M department has long hinted at the future electrification process, as early as the Vision M Next concept released in 2019 showed the future electrification concept, which is also a plug-in hybrid model, but the time is not yet ripe, unfortunately it did not become a mass production version. At the same time, BMW is also actively cooperating with the M department to develop a pure electric power system, which is expected to be launched on the BMW i4 M50 version, which will exceed 560 horsepower, and the BMW iX M60 version is also planned. In addition, it is reported that the next generation of M5 models will also have an electrified version, which may be plug-in hybrid or pure electricity, which is still unknown.
