On December 31, the last day of 2021, four ministries and commissions, namely the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Development and Reform Commission, jointly issued the Notice on Improving the Financial Subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles (Caijian [2020] No. 86).

According to the latest announced subsidy policy, the subsidy standard for new energy vehicles in 2022 will decline by 30% on the basis of 2021! Among them, urban buses, road passenger transport, taxis (including online car-hailing), sanitation, urban logistics and distribution, postal express, civil aviation airports and vehicles in the official field of party and government organs that meet the requirements, the subsidy standard will be reduced by 20% on the basis of 2021. In general, the subsidy policy of the entire new energy vehicle market is all declining!
However, for the majority of consumers, our most concerned is undoubtedly the new energy passenger car market.
The current changes in the amount of specific subsidies in 2022 are as follows:
Pure electric vehicles with a pure electric mileage between 300-400 km are subsidized by 9,100 yuan, compared with 13,000 yuan in 2021;
Pure electric vehicle models with a pure electric mileage greater than or equal to 400 kilometers are subsidized by 12,600 yuan, compared with 18,000 yuan in 2021;
The plug-in hybrid model is subsidized at $4,800, compared to $6,800 in 2021.
From the change in the amount of subsidy, we can see that the subsidy standard for the purchase of new energy vehicles in 2022 will decline by up to 30% on the basis of 2021 under the condition that the conditions of pure electric mileage remain unchanged. In order to maintain the good development momentum of the new energy automobile industry, comprehensively considering the development plan of the new energy automobile industry, market sales trends and the smooth transition of enterprises, the subsidy policy for the purchase of new energy vehicles in 2022 will be terminated on December 31, 2022, and the vehicles licensed after December 31, 2022 will no longer be subsidized.
There is no doubt that the subsidy for new energy vehicles will decline again in 2022, which will make many new energy vehicle companies face certain difficulties. Many people may say that car companies are afraid of seeing here, in fact, if put into a few years ago, new energy car companies are indeed the most afraid of subsidies to fall, but now with the high-end new energy models gradually accepted by consumers, the impact of subsidy decline on car companies has long been less so large.
In fact, we can find on the road, including Xiaopeng, Weilai, Ideal, etc., a number of new car-making brands, their product prices after breaking through the 300,000 level, consumers' purchase efforts are still extremely strong, so the difference of thousands of dollars generated by this subsidy decline, consumers and manufacturers will not pay too much attention, but some of the main low-end entry-level new energy brands, but will be affected a lot.
