"Lu Xiaoman is a must-see scenery in Beijing", this is Hu Shi's praise for Lu Xiaoman. When Lu Xiaoman is mentioned, many people will think of three men in their minds, the first husband Wang Geng, the second husband Xu Zhimo, and the male girlfriend Weng Ruiwu. What is less known is that Hu Shi once pursued Lu Xiaoman, and the relationship between the two was extremely ambiguous.
Lu Xiaoman's private diary has been made public, and she also admits that Hu Shi had pursued herself. In his diary on May 14, 1925, Lu Xiaoman wrote: "I am sick with Domon Shizhi and Xin Hai (concerned), he and he are so good, cough! I'm sorry for them, and they're really concerned. Xinhai is not afraid to go all the way every day, every day from Tsinghua back, it is appropriate to refuse all socializing to accompany me, I really thank them, I have unspeakable pain in my heart, he both love me very much. I love them as much as I love my brothers and have no other heart. It was good, he understood, and he didn't say it. ”
Chen Julai, a famous calligrapher and painter of the Republic of China, also mentioned a detail in the "Trivia of Holding Characters", Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng fell ill after marriage, and Hu Shi asked Xu Zhimo to visit. At this time, Xu Zhimo and Lu Xiaoman were already married, and Hu Shi did this very immoral. Chen Ju said what Lu Xiaoman told him, "Hu Shizhi is quite ambitious for himself, so he is Xu's best friend, so he has no way to start, so he urges Xu to go north to comfort Lin, get Lin and Liang divorced, and then Xu and Lu break up, and then he can abandon the wife of the chaff and pursue Lu." ”
On November 19, 1931, Xu Zhimo was wrecked, and Lu Xiaoman was only 29 years old. Due to the flow of money and the lack of the concept of money, Lu Xiaoman's life soon fell into difficulties. Lu Xiaoman thought of Hu Shi, and he wrote to ask Hu Shi for help solve economic problems, and Hu Shi said that he could, but he would agree to three conditions.
The three conditions put forward by Hu Shi were: First, he must quit the bad habit of smoking opium; second, he must leave his boyfriend Weng Ruiwu; third, he immediately came to Nanjing and arranged his work and life. Hu wanted to "raise" Lu Xiaoman, but he forgot that Lu Xiaoman was "a scenery" and could only be viewed from a distance.
After rejecting Hu Shi's conditions, Lu Xiaoman continued to live an opium life with Weng Ruiwu. One thing is certain, Lu Xiaoman's opium use was originally to treat physical diseases, and Weng Ruiwu was good at tuina. When the two were mixed together, Xu Zhimo was frantically earning money and teaching at Peking University.
The biggest reason hu shi let Lu Xiaoman leave Weng Ruiwu was that he thought that Weng Ruiwu was lustful for Lu Xiaoman's beauty. Hu Shi looked at the wrong person, and Weng Ruiwu took care of Lu Xiaoman until his death. The two spent 30 years together, and in the end even Lu Xiaoman's friends suggested that the two get married, but Lu Xiaoman refused.
