There is also Zhang Xu of the Tang Dynasty. Du Fu's "Eight Immortals Song in Drinking": "Zhang Xu's three cups of grass holy legend, before taking off his hat and revealing the crown prince, waving the paper like a cloud of smoke." ”

In the "Famous Paintings of the Tang Dynasty", it is recorded that he and Wu Daozi and Pei Min performed in public, each showing his ability, and the audience watched and said: "In one day, I have seen three masterpieces." "Pei Min's dancing sword, Wu Daozi's painting, and Zhang Xu's wild grass are collectively called the three absolutes."
There is also the monk Huai su, who not only performs, but also shouts.
Dou Ji's "Cursive Song of Huai Su Shangren": "There are dozens of powder wall corridors, and there is a small open-mindedness." (These two verses also appear in the Self-Narration) The latter sentence can also be used to describe the contemporary Master Zeng, who I doubt was inspired by Huai Su.

In short, calligraphy performances began in ancient times, not what we have today. Although the ancient existence is not necessarily correct, it is not necessarily wrong.
Therefore, there is nothing inappropriate about calligraphy as a stage performance.
