Recently, overseas media once again captured a set of BMW's next-generation V Series test prototype car spy photos, and the new car is expected to be officially released at the end of next year or early 2023. As the next turning point in BMW's electrification, BMW's new generation of five series will be more electrified in the powertrain. The fuel version of the new car will continue to be powered by 2.0T and 3.0T turbocharged engines, and both will be adapted to the 48-volt light hybrid system for the first time. In addition, the new car will also launch a plug-in hybrid model and a pure electric version of the i5 for consumers to purchase.
In the exterior part, BMW's new five series retains the classic double kidney grille design, and the overall shape resembles the seven series. However, unlike the Seven Series, the new Five Series will provide a slimmer LED headlight set on both sides, and will not adopt a split design. The lower bumper shape will also be upgraded and optimized. It is worth mentioning that BMW's next-generation five series will adopt the latest version of the BMW Group's CLAR modular platform, while the pure electric version of the i5 will use BMW's "new generation" new architecture pure electric platform. The interior space performance of the new car will be further improved.
In the interior, BMW has previously officially confirmed that the new hidden iDrive control system will be the first to be applied to the new generation of 5 Series models. And the new generation of five series upgraded a new curved floating LCD instrument + LCD central control, the overall shape is similar to the Mercedes-Benz interior design, and the sense of science and technology has been greatly improved compared with the current model.
