The famous monuments and famous posters of the world are all treasures that will never be exhausted, and later scholars can choose to learn them at their disposal. Advance in order, from the ancient to find me, do not re-monument and light post, do not raise the post and suppress the stele.
When studying books, we should study the Fa, and when we study the Fa, we should enter from ancient times, and this truth seems to be recognized as the principle of the source flow, and there is no doubt about it. We are talking about starting from ancient times, emphasizing the use of famous monuments and famous posters as the law for deep study, and not any of them can be used as the source of the law, such as small epitaphs, small statues, small statues, prisoner bricks, bamboo tablets, wooden tablets, general scripture writing, and so on. You can only take the intention and understand its natural interest, not the practice. Those who study the Book of Li only take Han Jian as the law, and do not take the famous stele of Ritual Instruments, Cao Quan, and Zhang Qian; those who study the Wei Stele only focus on small stone carvings written by knives, and do not take Zhang Ronglong, Shi Pinggong, Zhang Heinu, Zheng Wengong, and the Poetry of the Scriptures as the sects.
There are many sources of learning, we should focus on the source of learning, the flow of ancestors can be both, but can not put the cart before the horse. As far as epigraphy is concerned, in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the study of steles flourished, creating many great masters such as Deng Shiru, Zhang Yuzhao, Zhao Zhiqian, Kang Youwei and so on, whose successful goal was to take it from the source, to form their own genres, and to become their own sects. We should also be like them, when from the source, there are people who have done things to open up the stream again, if the study of Wei Stele only takes Zhao Zhiqian or Kang Youwei, and the study of the book takes Deng Shiru as the law, giving up its source, learning its flow is not a superior view.
The magic of calligraphy lies in thinking, and words with more lines should focus on the point, and words with more points should focus on the line. Write in your hand, and understand in your heart.
The formation of the calligraphy art of the Northern Dynasty is multi-elemental, the fusion of Han culture and Xianbei culture, and the crystallization of the impact of foreign culture on the Chinese standard culture.
