But there are always many wonderful things in life, and after decades of wind and rain, he finally chose to join the people's camp. This was a very wise decision, because his special contribution was also invited to participate in the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China, and witnessed the great moment of the founding of New China with the chairman.
But just nine years later, the man was sentenced to death, and why?
Devote yourself to the revolutionary cause
This person is Yang Hu, whose origin is not good, his father is a kiln worker, and the family lives on the meager income of his father's labor.
When Yang Hu was born, his family was so poor that he could not open the pot. The father thought about it for a long time before he made up his mind to sell his newborn son to Yang Yunlong in a neighboring village as a stepson. Such a decision is very helpless, if Yang Hu stays can only be starved to death, selling to others still has the hope of survival, and the reward for selling him can also help the family tide over the difficulties.
The reason why Yang Hu's biological father chose Yang Yunlong was because Yang Yunlong and his wife could not have children, and they could put all their love on Yang Hu without heirs. After Yang Hu came to the Yang family, he had his own name and had a happy and happy childhood under the love of his adoptive parents.

His hands were stained with the blood of revolutionaries
Yang Hu is loyal and righteous, and he is also very good at managing relations, and has always gotten along well with Chiang Kai-shek. After the death of the founding father, with the support of the elder Chiang Kai-shek, Yang Hu's political status was not affected in the slightest, and he was promoted to lieutenant general and served as the commander of the Shanghai garrison.
Later Chiang Kai-shek's war and the Central Plains War were able to become the final victors, in the final analysis, it was the support of strong financial resources, and the Zhejiang-Shanghai region was his main source of wealth, and it was enough to make Yang Hu the commander of the Shanghai garrison, which was enough to see the close relationship between the two.
After Yang Hu took office, he also fully supported Chiang Kai-shek's rule. After the outbreak of the "April 12", Yang Huhui and the three tycoons in Shanghai, with the Green Gang as the main force, wantonly persecuted the Shanghai party organization. Thousands of party members and revolutionary cadres were arrested and killed, and the whole city was shrouded in white terror, and in this counter-revolutionary coup, Yang Hu was the "first meritorious minister."
But as Yang Hu's position in Shanghai grew more and more secure and powerful, Chiang Kai-shek felt that his position was threatened. After the Central Plains War, Chiang Kai-shek freed up his space, and in addition to "encircling and suppressing" the Soviet area, he also began to deal with the big figures in the party who threatened his position, and Yang Hu became the focus of "taking care of the object.".
From 1931 to the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Hu's authority was slowly stripped away, and finally only an empty shell was left. After many meetings with Zhou Gong, he once said that if your party needs it, he can help it. Zhou Gong also told him that the party accepted these friends who treated each other sincerely with a frank attitude, and since they were friends, all the past events were "not to blame in the past."
Hearing this, Yang Hu put down the last bit of mustard in his heart, and for several years, with his influence, he secretly helped our party a lot. Among them are the rescue of patriots such as Zhang Lan and Luo Longji.
Save Zhang Lan
On the eve of the liberation of Shanghai, chiang ordered by the elder Chiang to secretly execute a group of imprisoned patriots. Among them were Zhang Lan and others, and after investigation, Zhang Lan and Luo Longji were placed under house arrest in the Hongqiao Sanatorium.
The surveillance task has always been the responsibility of the Shanghai Security Headquarters' Inspection Office, yan Jinwen, deputy director of the Inspection Office, is Yang Hu's old subordinate for many years, and Zhou Lixing, deputy commander of the Shanghai Garrison, is Yang Hu's son-in-law.
Soon a telegram sent by Zhou Gong was handed over to Yang Hu,and after reading the contents, Yang Hu did not hesitate in the slightest and expressed to the messenger that he would do his best to complete this rescue task.
Zhou Lixing is no problem, the key lies in Yan Jinwen. Yang Hu invited this old subordinate to his home, from the small things of the family to the major affairs of the country, after carefully analyzing the domestic situation, Yang Hu told Yan Jinwen the real purpose of inviting him to come: to save people.
After talking so much with his old superiors, Yan Jinwen already felt that this conversation was unusual, and after hearing Yang Hu's true thoughts, he was also shocked, and finally after seeing the telegram from Zhou Enlai, he made his final choice: abandon the dark and throw in the light, and rescue Zhang Lan and other patriots.
Without Yang Hu's full help, Zhang Lan, Luo Longji and others would not have been able to escape this fate.
Yang Hu has done so much for our party, is Chiang Kai-shek embarrassed and has no doubts? There were doubts, but there was no evidence, and in the end it was not resolved.
A hero of the people, a sinner of the country
Soon after the liberation of Shanghai, Chiang Kai-shek asked Zhou Lixing to send Yang Hu more than a dozen tickets to Taiwan, but Yang Hu refused. When Chiang Kai-shek found out, he scolded and later arranged for Du Yuesheng to accompany Yang Hu to leave Shanghai.
Yang Hu initially promised Du Yuesheng to go to Hong Kong with him, but secretly arranged everything. On the day of leaving, only Yang Hu and an aunt and a few retinue came to the dock, saying that he wanted to go to Hong Kong, and after the arrangements were made, other family members went to Hong Kong one after another, and Du Yuesheng was not good at saying anything.
However, after the ship was opened, Du Yuesheng did not find Yang Hu on the ship, and it turned out that Yang Hu secretly got off the ship after boarding the ship, and it was too late at this time.
Later, Yang Hu's family went north under the arrangement of the underground party organization and was invited to participate in the founding ceremony of the people's republic of China to witness the birth of this great country.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, many rebel generals had their own positions and tasks, but Yang Hu only served as an adviser to the Government Council. He once visited Zhou Gong and wanted to give himself a position with real power and to better contribute to new China. Zhou Gong made a simple explanation, promising that he would make adjustments to his work at the right time.

But Yang Hu has not been able to achieve his wishes, because the organization considers that he participated in the "Four· One Two" after all, if he was allowed to take up an important position earlier, many people will not accept it, in fact, from another aspect, it is also his protection.
However, Yang Hu did not understand this deep meaning, and coupled with the fact that his current living conditions could not catch up with his pre-liberation level, he was dissatisfied with the new government, and later went so far as to talk to old Chiang Kai-shek on Taiwan Island through a lurking agent, indicating that he would do his best to support him if he counterattacked the mainland.
The letter was intercepted in Guangzhou, and soon Yang Hu was captured, and in 1958 Yang Hu was sentenced to death. Fortunately, the organization remembered Yang Hu's contribution, which has not been executed, and Yang Hu died of illness in prison in 1966.
