A few days ago, BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Effective December 24, 2021, the recall will be made of 1,974 domestically produced iX3 electric vehicles with production dates from April 30, 2021 to August 27, 2021.
Within the scope of this recall, the actual and measured values of temperature/voltage may be deviated due to poor welding quality at the pins of the internal contact system of the power battery in some vehicles. When the deviation value exceeds the set safety value, the vehicle will start the battery system fail-safe mode, the fault code or alarm prompt information will appear, and cut off the power battery output, causing the power interruption during the vehicle's driving, and there is a safety hazard.
BMW Brilliance Will replace the power battery module with welding defects free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
Emergency measures: Users are advised to drive the vehicle with caution before receiving a recall for repair. If the vehicle is interrupted while driving, please stop at a safe location and contact the dealer.
