Hyundai Motor: Recalled 1,090 imported Kia Jawa vehicles

Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. It has been decided to recall the following vehicles as of March 18, 2022.

Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd.: Recalling some imported Kia Ka Wah vehicles manufactured between October 10, 2016 and February 27, 2018, for a total of 1,090 vehicles.

Reason for recall: When some vehicles within the scope of this recall vibrate or impact, the airbag control module (ACU) housing and internal memory may interfere, and long-term interference will cause memory damage, airbag warning lights are lit, resulting in vehicle collisions when the airbag may not be able to unfold normally, there is a safety hazard.

Solution: Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the vehicles within the scope of the recall, if the airbag warning light is not lit, then upgrade the airbag control module program for the vehicle free of charge, store the airbag expansion control parameters to the internal memory and microprocessor at the same time, when the internal memory is damaged, the airbag warning light is lit, but the airbag can work normally; if the airbag warning light is lit, then further check the airbag control module, such as the control module is damaged, Replace the improved control module free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz Motors: Recalls 5,034 imported S-Class and 25,773 domestically produced C-Class vehicles

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd.: Recalls 5,034 vehicles imported of S-Class vehicles with production dates from June 21, 2021 to November 8, 2021.

Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd.: Recalling a total of 25,773 domestic C-class vehicles with production dates from December 9, 2020 to November 29, 2021.

Reason for recall: Due to the software problem of the communication module control unit of the vehicle within the scope of this recall, it may lead to the inability to establish a voice connection during the emergency call or the emergency call function cannot be used, resulting in the delay of related rescue and the existence of security risks.

BMW Brilliance AG: Recalling 6 BMW 3 Series and X3 vehicles with automatic transmission defects from December 25, 2019 to October 12, 2021.

Reason for recall: Due to production errors in the vehicles covered by this recall, the bolts in the mechatronic control system assembly part of the automatic transmission were not installed correctly. Over time, it may lead to internal failure of the gearbox, the gearbox is switched to emergency mode, resulting in the interruption of power during the vehicle's driving; it may also lead to the failure of the transmission parking lock, which in extreme cases causes the vehicle to slip during driving, and there is a safety hazard.

Solution: BMW Brilliance AG will replace the automatic transmission mechatronic control system assembly free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate safety hazards.

BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd.: Expanded recall of 37 imported BMW 2 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, X3, X5, X6 vehicles with defective airbags from November 5, 2013 to August 25, 2017.

Reason for recall: The driver's front airbag of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is equipped with a gas generator containing ammonium nitrate produced by Takata Corporation, and its gas generator is not perfect in terms of moisture protection, and under the influence of repeated changes in temperature and humidity, the gas generator may deteriorate. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may be abnormally damaged, causing debris to fly out and injuring the people in the car, which is a safety hazard.

Solution: BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the improved driver front airbags for vehicles covered by the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
