Mr. Li Dazhao is one of the main founders of the Communist Party of China and one of the first pioneers in China to advocate the study of Marxism. He is also one of the initiators of The New Culture Movement in China and has led the May Fourth Movement. On April 28, 1927, Comrade Li Dazhao was killed by the Fengzhi warlord led by Zhang Zuolin at the age of 38.
Twenty-four years later, in 1951, the Public Security Bureau received a notice from residents claiming that the killer of Comrade Li Dazhao had been found, and that Lei Hengcheng had changed his name and surname and become a Zen master in a temple in southwest Beijing. Public security personnel quickly set up a special task force to study and capture the real culprit disguised as a Zen master, Lei Hengcheng.
Lei Hengcheng was a Manchu Nobleman with a prominent family. In the early years, he studied in Japan, studied police technology, and after returning from study, he worked in the Police Department of the Qing Dynasty, and after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, he took up an important position under the warlord Zhang Zuolin.
In April 1927, the Fengzhi warlord Zhang Zuolin arrested several Communists and progressives, including Li Dazhao. In prison, Li Dazhao and others were unyielding, tortured and never yielded, and strictly guarded the party's secrets. Among them, Li Dazhao's small pistol was taken away by Lei Hengcheng. Lei Hengcheng was cruel in temperament and severely punished, Li Dazhao was imprisoned for more than a month, and Lei Hengcheng did not get any news at all. They could only resort to the despicable means of fasting and starving to bring Li Dazhao and others to their knees. However, Li Dazhao and others would rather not eat or drink than give in.
When people learned that Li Dazhao and others were imprisoned, they strongly condemned the behavior of the Fengzhi warlords. Public opinion is particularly serious. People demanded that the warlords release Li Dazhao. But Zhang Zuolin insisted on going his own way and did not listen to advice. With the support of imperialism and bourgeois reactionaries, it was decided to execute Li Dazhao and others. But due to the influence of public opinion, the Chinese Communist Party and Peking University are also trying to rescue Li Dazhao and others. Zhang Zuolin hesitated. He privately sent telegrams to Sun Chuanfang, Zhang Xueliang, Chiang Kai-shek and 6 other people, asking for their opinions. Except for Yan Xishan, who did not reply, the rest of the personnel all replied to the execution of Li Dazhao and others to avoid future troubles. Therefore, Zhang Zuolin ordered Lei Heng to become the captain and execute Li Dazhao and others.
Lei Hengcheng severely tortured Li Dazhao and others, and strangled Li Dazhao and more than 60 other people with a gallows specially imported from Europe by Zhang Zuolin. In the face of death, Li Dazhao and others were unyielding, their eyes were firm, and they resolutely stepped onto the gallows, and at the last moment of their lives, Li Dazhao and others said, I will always love the Communist Party of China, and you will be punished as you deserve.
Lei Hengcheng's crimes did not stop there, he also participated in the planning of Yuan Shikai's Beijing mutiny, the fourth and sixth major arrests and other reactionary activities. The ruthless killing of ordinary people who refused to give in. Even women and children are not spared. It's tragic.
After the September 18 Incident, Lei Hengcheng rebelled and defected to the hands of the traitor Yin Rugeng, becoming a traitor to the country and seeking glory. Soon after, the Lugou Bridge Incident occurred, and Lei Hengcheng defected to another big traitor. During this time, he was not ashamed, but proud of it. Everywhere he oppresses the people, burns and plunders, does everything to the extreme, and commits many evils.
After the surrender of Japan, Lei Heng became a living, fearing reprisals from the people, and fled alone to a dilapidated temple in the southwest corner of Beijing. In the temple, Lei Hengcheng could hardly survive and fled to Shanghai to make a living by telling fortunes. And his true identity, no one knows, so Lei Hengcheng lived peacefully for several years.
In 1951, Lei Hengcheng's true identity was discovered by a resident surnamed Zhao. And secretly called the police and wrote a letter of condemnation. In this regard, the leaders at higher levels attach great importance to this and demand that Lei Hengcheng be arrested and brought to justice, and that more than 60 patriotic fighters, including Li Dazhao, as well as the people who were brutalized by him, be brought to justice and redress the unjust case. When the police arrived, Lei Hengcheng was divining in Shanghai. This sin was so deep that the enemies of the people were finally arrested and brought to justice after more than 20 years.
During the interrogation, Lei Hengcheng once said: "At that time, I only knew that Li Dazhao was the leader of the Communist Party, and I had heard of Li Chen and Li Bei, but I did not know that Li Dazhao was so powerful, and I also stole his small Browning pistol." "
On April 26, 1953, Lei Hengcheng was executed by firing squad. This traitor was duly punished. At this point, Li Dazhao and more than 60 other people, the innocent people who were mutilated by him, could finally be at peace.
