On December 21, at the "2021 Huawei Intelligent Vehicle Solution Ecology Forum", Xu Wei, director of the Intelligent Driving Technology Department of GAC Research Institute, revealed that the new model of GAC AION LX will be equipped with L2++ NDA advanced intelligent service driving function, which will be based on Huawei's new generation intelligent driving computing platform MDC 610, and will be listed for the first time in the world in 2022.

In 2023, GAC Trumpchi's new car will also be built on Huawei's MDC 610 platform, equipped with L2++ NDA advanced intelligent driving assistance functions, and achieve the world premiere of fuel vehicles. By 2024, GAC Aean's new car will be based on Huawei's next-generation MDC 810 platform, with more powerful computing power and support for L4 autonomous driving functions.

It is understood that GAC Group and Huawei have cooperated since 2017, and now 4 years have passed. During this year's Guangzhou Auto Show, the GAC Research Institute released the "Xingling" electronic and electrical architecture. The architecture is a product developed by GAC and Huawei after in-depth cooperation, which is composed of three parts: automotive digital mirror cloud, central computer, intelligent driving computer, and infotainment computer, and with 5G, Ethernet, information security and other technologies, it forms a "vehicle-cloud integration" centralized computing electronic and electrical architecture suitable for pure electric and hybrid models.

The automatic driving controller of the "Xingling" electronic and electrical architecture adopts Huawei Ascend 610 chip, which is based on the 7nm process process, supports the expansion of 200~400TOPS computing power, and the image processing capability of 2.4GPix/sISP, and the performance is equivalent to 2 times that of the same type of chip on the market. Through this chip, cars can achieve high-speed, complex urban road auxiliary driving functions, and achieve L2++ level high-level intelligent driving.

Nowadays, all car companies are focusing on the development of automotive autonomous driving functions, through the use of laser radar, cameras and other sensors, as well as high-computing chips, to form a powerful driver assistance system, in some cases can appropriately replace the human driver to control the car. Tesla is more radical, abandoning the use of more powerful radar sensors, relying only on pure vision systems to achieve autopilot functions, Musk is also confident that Tesla's autopilot system is smarter than human drivers.
