Whether it is the truth heard in the course of the interview, or the message seen from the author's text, it is worth savoring. After printing the book, we see not only the thickness of the pen and ink, but also the deep feeling of the older generation's memory!
Many of our customers who customize personal memoirs in the editorial department of Baiwei Nianhua are elderly. They have compiled and printed their own life experiences into books, leaving their rich life experience to future generations, and we, as editors, are the earliest and greatest beneficiaries.
In the book "Traces of Time", the protagonist Yu Lao summed up his life experience and wrote down seven messages for the younger generations. One of the messages is "respect the teacher and re-teach, study hard", he will accept education, master the skills in the first place, admonish the younger generations to have a skill to base themselves on the society; the second is "to be kind to people and do things", to be kind to people, to talk about conscience in doing things; the third message is "do not take money too seriously", do not see money red-eyed, see profits and forget righteousness; the fourth message is "always have a grateful heart", glad that the prosperous world should make a difference, do not forget to repay the motherland, repay the society, and care for others; the fifth message is "always have a reverent heart". We must respect nature, abide by discipline and the law, and ensure that we have "precepts" in our hearts and are not willful; the sixth message is to "try to avoid small mistakes as much as possible" and set strict demands on ourselves at all times; the seventh message is to be "good at drawing lessons and lessons," constantly carry forward our strengths, and correct our shortcomings. These seven teachings are like a spring breeze, like a rain, nourishing our hearts.
In the memoir "Our Generation", there is a chapter called "Mother's Quotations", and the protagonist records and passes on the teachings of his mother in his childhood. For example, "brothers and sisters love the same brothers and sisters" "Suffering losses is a blessing, and suffering losses is always there." "Good children do not eat separate meals, and good women do not wear wedding clothes." "It's better for a father to have a wife than to have it yourself." "The poor are in the downtown area and no one asks, and the rich have distant relatives in the mountains." "The state has a minister, and the family has an eldest son." The author believes that although these words of the mother are very popular, they are not rough and are still outdated, which is very inspiring for later generations.
The protagonist's mother in "Mother's Life" is somewhat different, she was born in the countryside, although she grew up in poverty, but she tempered a strong and simple character. She disciplines her children very strictly, but she can't say a deep, philosophical word or two, and more is to influence the children with her own behavior. The book intersperses the "Mother's Quotes" throughout the text, and one of the quotes impressed me the most: "Shall we educate?" We don't educate... When a child grows up, he doesn't always follow his father and his mother. A few simple words, saying the truth that teaching by example is more important than words.
These few words and small stories taken from personal memoirs are emotional and thought-provoking. As an editor who writes a memoir for himself, both the truth he heard during the interview and the message he saw in the author's text are worth savoring.
