On December 12, GAC Trumpchi's second-generation GS8 was officially launched, with a price range of 186,800-246,800 yuan. The new generation of GS8 offers 2 different styles of appearance to choose from, no matter which look has a strong sense of tough, luxurious visual impact. The new generation of GS8 adopts the family design language officially known as "Star Diamond Diamond Shadow", which is "Spread Wings" and "Dragon Wings" two kinds of grilles. Compared with the "Spread Wings" grille, the front face design of "Long Lin Wing" is more exaggerated and radical, and the Long Lin Wing Grille Edition provides an exclusive new ink seal green color scheme, implying a luxurious jewelry stoneware with unique oriental charm.
On the side of the body, the new generation of GS8 adopts a photomold curved design, which enhances the luxurious feeling of the body side, and looks more "flagship" than the first generation of GS8. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4980mm/1950mm/1780mm, and a wheelbase of 2920mm. Compared with the old model, the length has been increased by 145mm and the wheelbase has increased by 120mm.
In terms of the tail, the tail shape of the new generation GS8 echoes the front face, and the LED taillight group created by the design language of "Star Diamond Diamond Shadow" is applied, which is very advanced. In addition, the tail is also integrated with many hexagonal, diamond-shaped and other geometric elements to create the rear of the new car into a transparent three-dimensional device with a strong crystal texture, which looks atmospheric and stylish.
In terms of interior, the new generation of GS8 is equipped with GAC's latest super-sensor interactive intelligent cockpit, the interior of the new car adopts a wrap-around design, equipped with a classic three-spoke steering wheel, and the 14.6-inch suspension central control screen further enhances the sense of technology in the interior. There are no complicated buttons and control design around the gear handlebar of the new car, which is nothing more than to make the interior of the new car look more simple, with a dark gray diamond pattern on the gear handle, which further enhances the texture. The new generation of GS8 is available in 5-seat, 6-seat, and 7-seat layouts.
In terms of power, the new generation of GS8 provides two power options for consumers to choose from, the fuel version will be equipped with a 2.0T GDI engine, equipped with Aisin 8AT powertrain, the maximum power is 185kW (252 hp), and the maximum torque is increased to 400Nm. The hybrid version is equipped with Toyota's fourth-generation THS hybrid system, with a maximum engine power of 140 kW (190 hp), a maximum torque of 320 Nm, and a maximum power of 174 kW (237 hp) for the electric motor, which matches the E-CVT transmission and provides a four-wheel drive system for consumers to choose from.
