Recently, a set of spy photos of a new generation of GAC Trumpchi M8 was exposed on the Internet. The new car adopts a new exterior design language, the internal code is "A88", and is expected to be equipped with the same 2.0T pure fuel and THS hybrid system as the new generation Trumpchi GS8. It is reported that the new car or will be officially listed in the fourth quarter of this year.
In terms of appearance, judging from the spy photos exposed on the Internet, it seems that the new car will adopt the same dual-appearance design as the new generation Trumpchi GS8 to distinguish between models with different power forms. The version that fully reveals the appearance adopts a large-sized inverted trapezoidal grille design, the inside of the grille is decorated by a number of horizontal chrome trims, the headlight shape has become more flat, and the bumper is equipped with vertical LED strips and air intake opening design on both sides, which is very calm and atmospheric. The other version of the model adopts a straight waterfall type mesh shape that is somewhat close to the current model, and the visual effect is more impactful.
At present, the size of the new car has not yet been announced, and it is expected that the size will be further increased compared to the current model. Judging from the exposed pictures, the new car will continue the more boxy side shape and continue to be equipped with double-sided sliding doors. At the rear, the taillights of the new car are arranged vertically, and it is expected that the through-line taillight design will be eliminated. In addition, the new car appears to have a hidden exhaust layout and decorates the bottom surround with chrome trims.
In terms of interior, from the spy photos, the interior style of the new car is also similar to the new Trumpchi SG8, equipped with a full LCD instrument and a large size of the central control screen, and the co-pilot is decorated with a wide glossy black trim panel, including a three-spoke steering wheel and the button layout of the central channel position and the shape of the electronic gear handle, which make us feel familiar.
In terms of power, it is expected that the fuel version of the new car will be equipped with the same 2.0T GDI turbocharged engine as the new generation GS8, with a maximum power of 252 horsepower and a peak torque of 400 Nm, matching the Aisin 8AT transmission. The hybrid version is expected to be equipped with a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.0TM engine and a Toyota THS hybrid system.
