According to rumors, the new generation of GAC Trumpchi M8, code-named "A88", adopts a new design style, may be equipped with a THS hybrid system developed in cooperation with Toyota, and is expected to be listed in the fourth quarter.
The new generation of M8 in this set of spy photos uses two design styles. One style features an upper and lower tiered grille design, with the upper part blended in with the newly designed headlight set, and the lower grille decorated with stout chrome trims, which gives an atmospheric, full-bodied visual feel.
Another design style adopts a one-piece large-size grille design, and the straight waterfall chrome decoration cleverly uses the curved design to highlight the layering of the front, and the powerful aura is easily reminiscent of some million-level MPV models. In terms of power, the new GAC Trumpchi M8 is likely to be equipped with the 2.0T engine on the GS8, which has a maximum power of 185 kW (252 hp) and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The hybrid version features a 2.0t four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 140 kW (190 hp), supplemented by a 134 kW (182 hp) electric motor.
