The 2021 T-EDGE Global Innovation Conference released the EDGE AWARDS Global Innovation Award, and Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group, won the "Automotive Technology Index Automotive Person of the Year". Dear media friends, industry colleagues, hello everyone, I am Wang Chuanfu.

First of all, on behalf of BYD, I would like to express my warm congratulations on the successful holding of the Titanium Media 2021 Global Innovation Conference. At the same time, I would like to thank Titanium Media and Titanium Media Global Innovation Conference for their recognition of BYD.

This year, the major changes in the automobile industry that have not been seen in a century have accelerated their evolution, and the monthly penetration rate of new energy vehicles has reached about 20%. Judging from the great changes in the television, mobile phone and other industries in the early years, the development speed of new things has never been equal. New energy vehicles will be the same, and the speed of change will far exceed expectations.

Last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the development goal of carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, and the ardent hope of getting the national automobile brand up. On July 30 this year, the meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee proposed to support the accelerated development of new energy vehicles.

The current new energy automobile industry, after more than ten years of hard work, is ushering in an unprecedented development situation. In addition to the political drive of national and local governments, market drivers are also continuing to explode and are becoming the core force driving industry change.

In times of change, there is a need for innovative technologies that lead to change. With disruptive technologies such as blade batteries and DM-i super hybrids, BYD has ushered in an explosive period of technology, products and markets. Since the beginning of this year, BYD's sales of new energy vehicles have exceeded 500,000 units. This is some of the achievements that BYD has made this year after nearly two decades of perseverance.

The new energy automobile industry should adhere to the two-legged walk, through the development of plug-in hybrid, mainly to solve the needs of the first car of the family, through the development of pure electric vehicles to solve the needs of the second car of the family. More than 60% of China's families are car-free households, plug-in hybrid to achieve short-distance electricity, long-distance oil driving mode, so that the family's first car can be oilable and electric. BYD DM-i super hybrid greatly reduces the fuel consumption of the whole vehicle, further reduces the use of oil, BYD hopes to work together with the industry, increase the research and development and market promotion of pure electric or plug-in hybrid product technology, and accelerate the replacement of new energy vehicles for fuel vehicles.
