"Little Angels of Music" 2021 11th Annual Master Concert Held at Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall (01:59)
On the evening of December 11, 2021, the 11th Annual Concert of the 11th Masters of "Little Angels of Music" was held at the Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall. The "Little Cherub Master of Music Concert of the Year" is the most important concerto concert of each year in the Talent Cultivation Program. Mr. Tang Muhai, Chairman of the "Little Angel of Music" Art Committee and a famous Chinese conductor, led 20 outstanding young performers shortlisted this year to be concerted by the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra to present a wonderful concert for the audience.

This year's concert features violinists Zhou Mingen and Wei Yun, viola players Liu Nian and Wei Zhen, and cellist Luo Weixi and Qi Ruiyan, and the chamber orchestra composed of six people perfectly interprets the first movement of Tchaikovsky's string sextet in D minor, "Memories of Florence", Op.70. As well as violinists Tao Le, Wei Yun, Hou Yiyang and Zhou Mingen, viola players Liu Nian and Wei Zhen, cellist Luo Weixi and double bass player Luo Bing, mendelssohn's "String Octet in E major" Op.20 is presented by mendelssohn.
"Five Chinese Folk Song Concerto Suites" made its debut in this concert. Mr. Chen Musheng, a member of the "Little Angel of Music" Art Committee and a famous composer, led four young creators to creatively adapt five Chinese folk songs, namely the Taicang folk song "Rocking Boat Tune", the Yunnan folk song "Guess the Tune", the Inner Mongolian folk song "Hongyan", the Northeast folk song "Lullaby" and the Jiangsu folk song "Jasmine", which were expressed in the form of Chinese national instruments such as guzheng and erhu and violin, clarinet and orchestral ensemble. After Tang Muhai's on-site processing and guidance with great master style, the five works are like five landscape paintings from different parts of China, which are presented gently and colorfully, bringing the audience into the world of rich Chinese color music.
It is worth mentioning that there are many "post-10s" players in this concert. The clarinetist Zhang Yanchen of "Jasmine" in the "Five Chinese Folk Song Concerto Suite" is only 9 years old, and the 11-year-old violinist Chen Zejiao's Laro's "Spanish Symphony" Op.21 The first movement surprised the audience and brought the atmosphere to a climax.
Finally, young performers Li Junxi and Wang Wang Lele jointly interpreted Brahms's "Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A Minor" Op.102 Second and Third Movements, and successfully completed the "Little Angel of Music" 2021 Master Concert in the unceasing applause of the audience.
This year's annual concert of masters is not only selected by students from music professional colleges, but also two outstanding students from non-professional colleges, Ji Yinyi and Wang Wang Lele, which shows that as long as you love music from the heart, you can fully express your heart with music and achieve good results.
Through this annual concert, we are pleased to see that the 20 young performers selected for this year's Talent Cultivation Program have undergone real experience on the stage and stimulated their inner unlimited potential. This is the ultimate goal of the "Little Angel of Music" Talent Cultivation Program: to enable students to experience music from a deep level and expand the future music path through the multi-faceted immersive practice of stage testing, master guidance and professional symphony orchestra cooperation.
Guests from all walks of life attending the concert included: Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Mr. Tong Shijun, a famous educator and president of New York University; Mr. Cao Yikai, Mr. Shen Shuqiang, and Mr. Chen Musheng, members of the "Little Angel of Music" Art Committee; Mr. Qian Xuewa, founder of "Little Angel of Music", and Ms. Jiang Mingyue.
The 2021 Master's Annual Concert of "Little Angels of Music" has come to an end, but the footsteps of the 2022 Spring Garden Concert are getting closer and closer. Let us look forward to and witness the twelfth year of the "Little Angel of Music" and the new high point.
