Violinist Zuckermann returns with three Beethoven sonatas

After more than 50 years of acclaim in the music scene, the famous violinist Pinxias Zuckerman returned to Beijing with most of his life's string music thoughts to show his master's style. On the evening of May 12, Zuckerman and his friend pianist Shea Wosner took the stage at the National Centre for the Performing Arts and performed three Beethoven violin sonatas for the National Centre for the Performing Arts' "May Music Festival".

During his long career, Zuckerman won two Grammy Awards, was nominated for 21 Grammy Awards, and recorded hundreds of classic records. His performance is full of a sense of restraint, always putting the composer's musicality in the first place, never overpowering the guests with excessive showmanship, and the sound is beautiful and delicate, calm and rigorous. Since 1995, Zuckerman has performed in China many times, leaving behind many wonderful concertos and ensemble performances.

This concert is Zuckerman's solo debut at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. While maximizing the authenticity of the work, Zuckerman fully demonstrates his signature personal qualities. Beethoven's First Violin Sonata is the first to be staged, and the whole work begins with a lively allegro and ends with a cheerful rondo after a beautiful Andante, with Zuckerman and Wasner working together in harmony with each other, and the violin and piano are in harmony and harmony. Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 "Spring" continues to play, and when the opening theme is played, Zuckerman's interpretation is fresh and clear, calm and rational, which further highlights the pastoral atmosphere of the work.

In the second half, Beethoven's "Violin Sonata No. 7", which bears the composer's illness and ups and downs, erupts with powerful spiritual power. Under Zuckerman's fingertips, heaviness and brightness, humor and solemnity, tenderness and resistance are transformed and jumped, and the consistent sense of proportion is in place, controlling the emotional expression of the work within the full but overflowing range, reaching the hearts of the people.

The simple and steady enthusiasm, depth, and explosiveness are soaked in Zuckerman's seriousness and study. Until now, at the age of 76, he admits that he is "still in the process of climbing". Approaching or maintaining the height of the "pinnacle" requires extreme self-discipline, "My requirement for myself is that I must open the case every day and practice the basic skills tirelessly, like an athlete. There is nothing else in my life except music, learning, self-discipline, and continuous improvement, which is my life. Zuckerman said in an interview before the show.
