Sumanshu was born in Edo, Japan in 1884. A few months after his birth, his father died. His father, Munakata, and his mother, Kawai, were both Japanese. Sumanshu, who was first known as Munosuke, often ran to Nara-ji Temple when he was four years old, wearing a monk's robe and crawling on the ground to learn the roar of a lion. One day a photographer saw him, touched the back of his head, and said that this child should stay away from the temple, otherwise he would not live long. At the age of five, The Kawai clan married a Chinese tea merchant surnamed Su, and Xiaozong came to Guangzhou with his stepfather and changed his surname to Su and sang lang.
Stepfather's family is rich, wives and concubines are in groups, a group of women collude to bully the Kawai clan, the Kawai clan stayed for three years, really can't stay anymore, endure the pain and return to China. Sumanshu had a half-brother who took great care of him, so Sumanshu stayed. At the age of nine, Su Manshu was also bullied by the children of the clan and could not stay still, so his father asked him to follow a Spanish priest to Hong Kong to learn English. At the age of eleven, his stepfather also died, and Sumanshu became an isolated goose. At the age of twelve, Su Manshu returned to Guangzhou and entered the Longevity Monastery as a monk, with the dharma name Bojing and the number Manshu.
Bo Jing means to read the group of scriptures. Manju means Manjushri, sanskrit maňjuśrī transliteration, meaning wisdom. Manjushri is Manjushri, and the mount is the lion.
At the age of thirteen, the Longevity Temple was destroyed, and Sumanshu returned to Japan to live with his mother and learn Western art. At the age of fifteen, he entered Waseda University to study political science for three years, and "achieved nothing." He has traveled to temples in Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and other countries to study Buddhism. Practicing in a mountain temple in India, the mountain is full of fruit trees, Sumanshu eats fifty or sixty apples every day, and after more than a month, he is secretly happy in his heart, thinking that it is not bad to live here for a lifetime, and does not eat fireworks in the world. I didn't expect to eat apples every day to break my stomach and get dysentery, so I had to leave the mountains and enter the rolling red dust, "Fang Wu went far away."
At the age of thirty, Su Manshu was exiled to Suzhou, crazy, and could eat thirty packs of zongzi candy (shortbread). Thirty-one years old in Japan, eat oyster fried chicken three large plates, shrimp noodles a small bowl, five apples. As for whether tomorrow is diarrhea or not, resign yourself to fate. He likes to eat lotus seed soup eight treasure rice from a Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately it is four or five hours away from where he lives, and the car is too expensive to take a cost.
Thirty-five years old, eating too much sugar fried chestnuts, diarrhea hospitalization, the doctor said, do not eat sugar fried chestnuts, otherwise indigestion, will die. But he hid the sugar fried chestnuts in the quilt and ate them, "five or six times a day, unable to stand up", lying on the hospital bed every day moaning. On his deathbed, he told his friend who took care of him that the only thing he was worried about was his mother who was far away in Japan, and then wrote "All sentient beings, no obstacles" in the final pen. After his death, his friends checked his bags, found a lot of small gadgets such as powder boxes and sachets, and found a pile of chestnuts under the pillow. After Sumanshu's death, the Kawai clan was still there.

Su Manshu's stepfather once set him a family affair, his fiancée was called Xuemei, after his father's death, the woman broke off this family affair, Xuemei could not bear this humiliation, and committed suicide by throwing herself into the river. Later, Su Manshu went to the tomb of Xuemei to mourn, and was reprimanded and scolded by Xuemei Ya, hating his negative heart.
Kawai's sister, Motoeko, wants to marry her daughter Shizuko to him, and the two of them have been around for months. When talking about marriage, Su Manshu said that I was a monk, and I could not marry a woman, and I was absolutely out of love.
Su Manshu lived with Zhang Taiyan, woke up in the middle of the night one day, suddenly cried, Zhang Taiyan asked in surprise, what is wrong with you? Su Manshu said that in the past, someone introduced me to my girlfriend, but now that I am out of the house, no one has introduced me, and I am so lonely.
Su Manshu fell in love with the geisha Hyakusuke Maple, and the two slept in the same bed, and although Su Manshu was "tormented and wanted to burn himself", nothing happened. Maple was puzzled and asked him what was wrong. He folded his hands and recited the Buddha trumpet, Amitabha, I am a monk, I cannot violate the vows. Maple listened and really wanted to kick him to death. After Feng Zi got married, Su Manshu gave two poems, one of which was: Wushe Lingbo's muscles were like snow, and he personally held the red leaf inscription poem. He also wept mercilessly, hating not meeting without shaving. Again: Nine years of facing the wall into an empty phase, holding the tin back to repent of the Qing. I had a negative heart, and let others make a kite.
Su Manshu once saw a beautiful woman on the road hitchhiking, and quickly ran to chase, but unexpectedly fell down and knocked out two front front teeth.
Su Manshu often went in and out of the sound and color place with his friends in a robe, signed the door, and wrote "monk". Friends say that you wear robes in and out of this kind of occasion, it is too ostentatious, at least change clothes. SuManshu began to ignore it, and after a few days, he suddenly changed into a suit. Friends asked why they were so obedient today, and SuManshu said, You are right, it is indeed inconvenient to eat and drink in robes. But he only went in to eat and drink, and did nothing else. Some senior monks said that Su Manshu only came and went on such occasions for the sake of "enlightenment."
Su Manshu likes singers and dancers, and there are nearly 30 people with names, surnames and addresses. He kept a record of the account, and spent only 500 yuan on buying books, but more than 1800 yuan in the Qinglou.
Sumanshu has a serious mother-in-law complex, and he said that his mother loved him with a crazy attitude and poured out the most mellow, deepest, and strongest love in the world.
Su Manshu hand-painted a picture of a hundred maple bullet kites
SuManshu was very fond of reading "La Traviata" written by Dumas, and by the way fell in love with the "Molden Candy", which was Traviata's favorite food. One year he went to teach in the South Asian Islands, earned hundreds of dollars, bought all the Molden candy, and on the way back to Guangzhou, the ship had not yet arrived ashore, and he ran out of the sugar.
Sumanshu loves sugar. Once a friend came to see him, Su Manshu was suffering from no money to buy sugar, found that his friend had three dollars in his pocket, and without the consent of his friend, he took out a piece of five, hurried out, and in the blink of an eye, he bought a lot of Molden candy from the street.
Sumanshu loves to eat malt tart cakes, eats twenty in one go, eats stomachaches, and rolls around in the middle of the night.
SuManshu likes to eat sugar, cocoa sugar, zongzi sugar, maltose, all of which are his daily necessities. One year, when there was no money to buy sugar, he pulled out his dentures in his mouth and exchanged them for sugar, and people gave him the nickname "Sugar Monk".
Su Manshu is a master of painting, but he never shoots easily. Someone bought candy for him to eat in order to make him paint. He first drew a round of cold moon hanging in the night sky, finished eating sugar, and added a few strokes to the moon, becoming a copper coin.
A fellow sumanshu bought a lot of sugar and asked him to paint, and he was embarrassed by his affection, so he drew a small boat in the southeast corner of the paper and a small person in the northwest corner. The fellow villagers were not happy, thinking that he was deliberately making fun of him. Su Manshu calmly drew a line, one end tied to the bow of the ship, the other end held in the hands of the villain, and immediately became a wonderful painting with a far-reaching artistic conception, and the friend left happily.
In order to get a painting from Su Manshu, Zhang Qun, the mayor of Shanghai, bought him chocolate candy to eat every day. After a long time, Su Manshu smiled and asked, "You want to get my paintings, otherwise why did you break the cost like this?" Zhang Qun then presented paper and ink, and Su Manshu drew a small one for him: the crescent moon in the distant mountains, the willow jackdaws, and a bleak and vast work. Zhang Qun thanked him. Su Manshu smiled and said, "Don't be busy thank you first, the painting is not finished yet!" After saying that, use an ink pen to draw a thin line from the willow tip to the crescent, taking the meaning of "the head of the willow tip on the moon, after dusk". Zhang Qun hurried to stop it, but it was too late.
Suman was frail and sickly, but he had a high appetite. Once, after eating five or six pounds of ice at a time, he lay in bed at night and couldn't move, people thought he was dead, and he sniffed and breathed. The next day I drank ice as usual. After eating for a few days, I got diarrhea, rested for a few days, and then continued to eat.
Sumanshu once went out and met a friend, and the friend asked him why he was going, and he said that someone had invited him to dinner. My friend said that it was a coincidence that I was also invited to dinner, so let's go together. His friend asked him where he was going to eat, but he couldn't say anything, so his friend took him to the feast.
As soon as Su Manshu had money, he went to the street to invite people to eat, and after eating, he scattered, and they didn't even know what their surnames were.
Someone invited Su Manshu to eat meat buns, betting that he could not eat 60 at a meal, Su Manshu ate fifty, really could not eat, friends advised him not to eat, he did not listen, insisted on eating, and also quarreled with his friends who persuaded him.
Su Manshu did not say the word money in his life, nor did he know how to make money, his money was borrowed from friends, or given by friends. When I had money, I quickly spent it, and when I had no money to eat, I held the quilt and covered my head and slept all day.
Lu Xun sighed that among my friends were people with eccentric personalities, who drank and used up as soon as they had money, and went to the temple to stay honestly when they had no money.

Su Manshu is sentimental, has a relatively serious depression, sometimes does things nervously, and is called "Su Nerve". One night, everyone was asleep, and he was humming and not sleeping. People asked him what he was doing, and he said it was uncomfortable to urinate. Asked why he didn't go to the bathroom, he said there were big-headed ghosts outside.
A friend of Sumanshu asked him for a painting, but he refused without a word. Later, when a friend died, he painted a painting of the Great Wall Drinking Horses and burned it in front of his friend's grave.
Although Sumanshu was born in Japan, he hated Japan very much and was ashamed to speak Japanese. One year when he was sick in Japan, a friend went to see him and asked, why don't you go to the hospital. He said, no translation, no way out. Friends took him to the hospital, and the doctor asked a lot of questions, all of which were answered by friends. As the two were talking, Sumanshu was gone. The friend returned to the apartment and found Sumanshu lying on the bed again. My friend said, why don't you squeak and leave, harm me for half a day to find. Su Manshu said, your translation is not correct at all, I am afraid that the doctor will prescribe the wrong medicine and kill me. The friend laughed, then you tell the doctor yourself. SuManshu said, you forgot that I never spoke Japanese?
Su Manshu has no money and does not borrow from friends, and friends do not pay back the money. For a year there was no money, lying in bed for several days without eating, and my friend came to see it, sighed and said, I am one step late, you will starve to death. Bought him food and left more than a hundred dollars. A few days later I went again and saw him still lying on the bed moaning. Friends asked, do you want to go on a hunger strike. Sumanshu said that there was no money to eat. My friend said, where is the money I gave you? Sumanshu said, I went out to eat, saw a bicycle, liked it very much, and bought it. There was some left, given to the roadside beggar. Friends say you can't ride a bike, what did you buy. He said, don't do anything, just like it.
One day a friend gave him tens of yuan, he went to the street to buy a blue robe, and did not ask how much the price was, leaving twenty yuan and leaving. The rest of the coins fell to the ground.
Sumanshu's friend Yu Dafu said that Sumanshu's poetry is better than painting, and painting is better than novels. Xie Mian, a professor at Peking University, said that Su Manshu was the first person to write old style poetry in the 20th century. Three small poems by Sumanshu are recorded here to entertain the reader and conclude.
Spring rain building head shakuhachi, when to return to see the Zhejiang tide? The mangshoe was uncovered and stepped across the cherry blossom bridge.
Spring water is difficult to measure the old hate, peach cheeks sandalwood mouth sitting blowing sheng. Huayan Waterfall is thousands of feet high, not as high as Qingqing loves me.
The flowers and grasses in the world are too hurried, and the flowers are empty when the spring is not broken. Since he is a god and immortal, he does not have to worry about his memory.
The famous writer Mimon said that Sumanshu "has the surname of sugar and is sweet to sorrow." As a monk, he did not abide by the rules and precepts, drank wine, ate meat, burned money and bubbled up, and died if he did not eat sweets every day, and finally died eating sweets. The famous writer Yu Shicun said that Su Manshu "is a small child, and he is inevitably willful to people and things", a historical figure who combines revolutionaries, monks, artists, writers, and lovers, "suffering and complaining, hurting others and hurting himself", his love is largely platonic, and he does not dare to easily cross the thunder pool. His legendary life has an irreplaceable charm.
