Cover News: "Years in the Mountains" was written when you were working in a village in Gansu, what impressions do you have when you recall that time now? What kind of days were they?

Chen Tao: This is a particularly important imprint in my life, and everything is not only reflected in my works, but also engraved in my heart. These years have enriched and changed me. In a sense, it is a subversion of my outlook on life and literature, and this period of time will make me understand the difference between "living" and "living", and understand the reverence for life and the reverence for words.

Cover News: In many of your works, the image of the "mountain" seems to be very important all along, can you talk about it?

Chen Tao: Mainly the town where I live is between the mountains, first of all, the mountain is a real objective existence, and at the same time, in this big mountain, I urge myself to think about many difficulties in life and life, which are like "mountains" in front of us, and we need to constantly climb and leap forward, ushering in the infinite possibilities of life.

Cover News: Some people may think that using literary tentacles to describe national policies such as poverty alleviation, this main theme, will appear "less literary", what do you think?

Chen Tao: Literature is grand and oriented to all human experiences and lives. No matter what kind of subject matter, it can be turned into literary nourishment. As a writer, the most important thing is to use different themes to write about human nature, difficulties, warmth and other eternal things. Therefore, I don't think that what I write is the literature of poverty alleviation, but I write my own observation and thinking.

Cover News: Can you talk about what you think of as "non-fiction literature"?

Chen Tao: Non-fiction literature is a great enrichment and supplement to the current literary creation, which greatly expands the concept of literature. In my opinion, non-fiction literature is a literary self-expression carried out by creators through various writing techniques based on real reality as the background of creation.

Chen Tao: This award has also reached its sixth year, six years ago I went to Gansu to start my hanging years, when I was 36 years old, and six years later I won the sixth Chinese Young Writers Award, like an interesting coincidence. This award has had a great impact on the literary world, as Teacher Alai said, it has gradually taken on its own "tone", and its encouragement to young writers is of great significance, which will make me firmly confident in continuing to write.

If it is advice, I hope that there are more literary and artistic activities here, and more literary and artistic people will come here.
