May 12, 2024 is the 16th Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day in the mainland, in order to enhance the awareness of teachers and students about earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, comprehensively promote the publicity and popularization of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge and skills, and improve emergency escape ability, on the occasion of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, the Second Experimental Kindergarten of Lijin County carried out the theme activity of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Will Respond to Emergencies".
Before the activity, the children learned about the causes of the earthquake and related knowledge by watching videos and pictures, and learned the correct way to take shelter in a solid triangle such as tables and wall corners when an earthquake occurs, and evacuate in an emergency and orderly manner after the earthquake is lifted. Hand-copied posters about earthquake information were also drawn and posted on display boards to disseminate information on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction. The emergency evacuation drill organized in the park allows children to be immersed in the scene, and feel how to escape calmly, neatly and orderly when the earthquake comes, and the entire evacuation drill process is tense and orderly, without missing a child, without collision and stampede, to achieve the expected results.
In order to better disseminate the knowledge of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, children also distribute earthquake prevention and disaster reduction leaflets to parents during the school and school days to promote the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction to the public. Finally, through catchy nursery rhymes and vivid gesture dances, the children deepened their impression of the escape posture and strengthened their awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.
Through the development of this earthquake prevention and disaster reduction activity, the safety awareness of all teachers and students in the kindergarten has been further improved, the emergency avoidance ability and self-rescue ability have been effectively improved, and the basic earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge has been more deeply understood and mastered.
