Shenbeast offers two power versions of the fuel version and the hybrid plate, of which the fuel version is equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T engines respectively, and the drivetrain matches the third-generation 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission. The Mythical Beast Lemon Hybrid DHT edition that I test-drove today is equipped with a hybrid system of 1.5T+DHT130, with a maximum motor power of 130kW, a maximum torque of 300Nm, a comprehensive maximum power of 179kW, a comprehensive maximum torque of 530Nm, and a maximum cruising range of 1000km in full oil.
The structure of the Great Wall DHT hybrid system is not complicated: the engine and two electric motors are connected by a parallel shaft 2-speed reduction mechanism, and the power output between different components is adjusted by a clutch. With the clutch opening and closing, the DHT can achieve three operating modes: EV, series, and parallel mode. In ev mode, the main drive motor driven by the lithium battery directly drives the vehicle, and the engine does not work; in the series mode, the engine runs in the efficient range to drive the power generation motor to generate electricity, and the drive motor drives the wheel forward; in the parallel mode, the engine drives the wheel through a two-stop reducer and drives the motor at the same time.
