A brief review of NIO's achievements in the past four years: in May 2018, the first vehicle rolled off the production line; in November 2018, the 10,000th car rolled off the production line; in July 2020, the 50,000th car rolled off the production line; in April 2021, the 100,000th car rolled off the production line; in April 2022, the 200,000th car rolled off the production line.
That is to say, the completion of the second 100,000 vehicles off the production line, Weilai took a year, for the average price of hundreds of thousands of models, this speed is indeed very amazing.
The rollout of the 200,000th production vehicle is an important milestone in NIO's overall acceleration in 2022: the new models ET7, ET5 and ES7 born on NIO's technology platform NT2 will be delivered one after another; the 2022 ES8, ES6 and EC6 models equipped with the latest smart cockpit hardware, as well as the existing user smart cockpit upgrade plan will be released soon.
In addition, WEILAI will continue to increase its full-stack self-research investment, and in 2022, it is expected that R&D investment will increase by more than 1 times year-on-year, and the number of R&D personnel will increase to 9,000 at the end of the year.
In terms of production capacity, the second production base located in Hefei Xinqiao Intelligent Electric Vehicle Industrial Park is progressing smoothly and is scheduled to be officially put into operation in the third quarter; as for channels, nationwide, NIO plans to add no less than 100 sales outlets and more than 50 NIO service centers and authorized service centers in 2022.
NIO will also accelerate its global layout, and its products and system-wide services will be officially implemented in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark this year.
