The world's first all-electric digital platform

Deng Chenghao, CEO of Chongqing Changan New Energy Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to the "4 high" advantages of the EPA1 all-electric digital platform. The first is high efficiency, Changan's new generation of super-collector electric drives continue to promote the development of electric drives to high power density, contributing lower energy consumption levels to the whole vehicle. The drive motor of the EPA1 platform will adopt eight-layer flat wire winding technology and the rotor dual-V topology configuration, which will increase the driving efficiency by 1.3%. At the same time, the adaptive electronic control algorithm adapted to the electric drive system and the ultra-low resistance wire make the whole system up to 95% efficient.

The second is high performance, driving the strategy of the EPA1 platform to drive the gene, while taking into account the extreme performance of the four-wheel drive. According to the actual measurement of the C385 model, it takes only 5.9 seconds for the rear single 190kW drive motor to break the hundred, and the future dual-motor model product is expected to enter the 3-second club. In terms of improving the driving experience, the new car will also offer H-arm multi-link independent suspension, front and rear 50:50 counterweights, and exclusive power tuning for motor drive characteristics.

In addition, the EPA1 platform adopts the latest generation of domain control electronic and electrical architecture, with three domain control functions of vehicle control domain, cockpit domain and self-driving domain, supporting the expansion of SOA services. At the same time, the EPA1 platform supports global ultra-fast OTA upgrades, which can realize OTA upgrades for all node controllers in the whole vehicle to meet the commonly used and new functional requirements. Through in-vehicle communication technologies such as Ethernet, the EPA1 platform optimizes the transmission bandwidth and processing speed between the various controllers. The vehicle control software can be optimized from the traditional OTA time to less than three minutes, basically realizing the senseless OTA.

In terms of the most indispensable safety, Changan New Energy adopts a five-horizontal and nine-vertical surround body design. In terms of battery safety, Changan New Energy has developed iBC digital battery housekeeper, which can effectively avoid battery thermal runaway through two types of digital pre-control management technology groups and seven types of digital temperature control technology management.

In addition to the EPA1 platform, Changan also further revealed the trend of the deep blue C385, announcing that the new car will be equipped with three power types: pure electric version, extended range version, and hydrogen fuel cell version. If mass production can be achieved as expected, the C385 may become the first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell car in the Chinese market.

In fact, as early as the 1960s, the mainland began to study hydrogen energy. In 2019, hydrogen energy was written into the government work report for the first time; in 2021, the state introduced the policy of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", the strategic position of hydrogen energy was once again emphasized, and central enterprises such as PetroChina and Sinopec accelerated the layout of hydrogen energy industry. The support of the policy has undoubtedly encouraged the pace of car companies to move into this field. Not only Changan, but also a large number of car companies such as Great Wall and Geely are also marching into the field of hydrogen energy vehicles.

It should be reported that as early as 2010, Changan Automobile had relevant fuel cell vehicles put into demonstration operation, and it came ahead of many enterprises in the history of research and development. With the increase of the policy, Changan Automobile has also kept pace with the country, established the British Fuel Cell Innovation Center in November 2019, and cultivated a group of professional research and development teams.

As the first product of the new platform, the C385 can be described as the technology of Changan Deep Blue. The body size of the C385 is 4820*1890*1480mm, the wheelbase is 2900mm, and the wind resistance coefficient is as low as 0.23Cd, which is comparable to the Model 3 level and reaches the industry-leading level. The whole series is rear-wheel drive, equipped with a rear H-arm multi-link independent suspension system, highlighting the sporty characteristics of wide-body coupe.

At the press conference, Deng Chenghao, general manager of Changan New Energy, said: "The Deep Blue C385 is equipped with the China team of Changan New Energy and the British team to create the first mass-produced independent sedan hydrogen fuel cell system in China. The system adopts the water-gas heterodial stack design, which achieves a smaller volume and greater power, so as to realize the car loading, and adopts the intelligent perception algorithm of the working condition mode and the gradient coating of the new generation of highly active platinum alloy catalysts to achieve ultra-high power generation efficiency and ultra-long stack life. ”

In terms of features and configuration, the C385 is equipped with the largest 19-inch wheels in its class, a 14.6-inch sunflower screen that can be intelligently steered, and an electric hatchback door that allows convenience and premium to coexist.

In terms of core performance parameters, under CLTC conditions, the C385 pure electric version with endurance-based has a comprehensive working range of more than 700 kilometers, the performance-based version has a maximum power of more than 190 kilowatts, and the power consumption is as low as 12.3 kWh/100 km or less.

The mileage of the extended range full fuel full power under clTC comprehensive conditions can reach more than 1200 km, the cruising range of simple electric comprehensive working conditions can reach more than 200 km, and the fuel consumption of feeder is as low as 4.5 liters/100 km or less.

Under the comprehensive CLTC standard of the hydrogen version, the mileage can reach more than 700 kilometers, and the hydrogen consumption of feed is as low as 0.65 kg/100km or less, which can achieve 3 minutes of ultra-fast energy replenishment.
