Recently, according to foreign media reports, Lexus plans to launch a new SUV model in North America, which is or named TX, positioned as a large SUV, providing three rows of seats, benchmarking BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, its positioning will be higher than the existing RX long wheelbase version, but unlike GX and LX, the car will use a load-bearing body.

It is reported that the new car will share the platform with the new Toyota model that was previously rumored to be launched, the Grand Highlander (Highlander) in North America in June 2023, and the TX will be introduced to the market at the end of 2023 or early 2024.

Although there is no detailed information about the TX model and body parameters exposed, according to the previous foreign media revealed the Grand Highlander related information, the TX of the same platform is likely to adopt a 2+3+3 eight-seat layout, and at the same time carry the same power configuration as the overseas version of Highlander, that is, it provides 3.5L V6 engine and 2.5L four-cylinder engine + dual motor two power versions. The former offers a maximum power output of 220 kW (299 hp) and the latter has a maximum power output of 181 kW (246 hp). According to relevant sources, Toyota has registered at least three models for TX in 2020, namely TX350, TX500h and TX550h+, which also means that TX is likely to have a third power version.
