Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV officially debuted, the new car positioning large luxury pure electric SUV, as the third model of the Mercedes-EQ brand and the first large luxury SUV, based on the EVA pure electric platform forward research and development.
The exterior styling of the new car inherits the latest EQ family design concept, including the "Dark Night Star Array" closed grille, the headlights connected to the grille, the smooth and low wind resistance body line, the hidden door handle and the through-tail light set, etc., the overall design style is similar to the EQS sedan.
For the first time, the "Ring of Time" daytime running light strip uses three sharp triangular lighting units. Opening the doors, there is also a welcome light with a dynamic star emblem, and the welcome pedal also has a luminous design.
The interior is designed to be basically the same as the EQS sedan, offering 7 interior color combinations and 2 styles of interior seating to choose from, equipped with Hyperscreen ultra-combined screen with curved screen OLED technology, a 77-inch head-up display system with AR real-life traversal function, and an active ambient lighting system.
The EQS SUV is available in 5 and 7 seats (the third row is optional), the second row of seats is equipped with easy access system and luxurious headrests as standard, and the second row of head space is greatly improved compared to the EQS sedan, and all three rows can enjoy ample seating space. The second and third rows of seats are reclined and have a large 2,100-litre load space, allowing four standard golf bags when travelling for five people.
The new car is also equipped with an air purification system with a HEPA filter element, a filtration effect of up to 99.75% in the laboratory environment, and an exclusive fragrance of No. 6 "Mimosa".
The EQS SUV is available in two power versions, the 450+ and the 580 4MATIC, with the former being rear-wheel drive and the latter being dual-motor four-wheel drive with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Among them, the maximum output power of the 450+ models is 265 kW, the peak torque is 568 Nm, and the maximum output power of the 580 4MATIC models is 400 kW, and the peak torque is 858 Nm. Equipped with a capacity of 107 kWh of batteries, WLTP range of up to 660 km, the battery management system supports OTA remote online upgrades.
Featuring a chassis design with four-link front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension, the new car is equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension with continuously adjustable damping, and offers 5 DYNAMIC SELECT functions including energy saving, comfort, sport, personalization and off-road, with the body raised by 25 mm after starting in exclusive "off-road" mode. The 4MATIC all-wheel drive system monitors and adjusts the torque on the wheel up to 10,000 times per minute. The rear wheel steering system can reach up to 10 degrees and the turning diameter is as low as 11 meters.
