According to the data, there are 14 models of compact cars that sold more than 10,000 units in March, including 4 self-owned brand cars and 10 joint venture brand cars. Nissan Xuanyi remains the top compact car sales champion, with 27,373 units sold in March, but sales fell 31.6% compared to the same period last year.
Volkswagen Langyi ranked second, with wholesale sales of 26,040 vehicles in March, and the sales decline was also very large compared with the same period last year, down 36.7% year-on-year. As Volkswagen's compact car "Three Musketeers", Sagittarius and Bora fell even more, of which Sagitar sold 17214 units, down 46.8% year-on-year; while Bora sales were only 16235 units, down 52.2% year-on-year.
Toyota Corolla sold 25,173 vehicles in March, ranking third, which is a normal performance in terms of ranking, but it is still down 27.9% year-on-year. In addition, Buick Yinglang, one of the hottest models in previous years, did not sell high in March, with only 14,159 units, ranking only tenth, and sales fell by 62.8% year-on-year.
It can be seen that the popular models in the traditional joint venture compact car, the year-on-year decline in sales in March this year is very large, only Ralink and Civic sales remained growth. Among them, Leiling sold 19,977 vehicles, a slight increase of 1.1% year-on-year; Civic sold 17,456 vehicles, an increase of 44.3% year-on-year.
BYD Qin PLUS sold 22,942 units, ranking fourth, and is also the best-selling autonomous compact sedan. BYD Qin PLUS includes DM-i models and EV models, of which DM-i models sold 14260 units and Qin PLUS EV models sold 8682 units.
Among other independent brands, Changan Yidong sold 18,732 vehicles, ranking sixth, an increase of 16.2% year-on-year. The newly launched Yidong EV also sold 3,160 units in the first month, performing well.
In March, MG 5 wholesale sales of 13,856 units, ranked eleventh, an increase of 26.5% year-on-year. Sales of the MG 5 include sales of the export part, and domestic retail sales in March were only 5,064 units.
Geely Emgrand followed, ranking twelfth with sales of 13,593 vehicles, up 9.8% year-on-year. In addition, the Emgrand L sold 2881 units and the Emgrand EV sold 2745 units.
Other compact cars with better sales in March were: Chevrolet Cruze sold 13,286 units, ranking thirteenth, up 115.8% year-on-year; Volkswagen Santana sold 10,580 units, up 38.6% year-on-year; Buick Veyron sold 8,976 units, up 912% year-on-year; Geely Xingrui sold 8,576 units, down 40.3% year-on-year.
