Chery Automobile announced its latest sales volume, with sales of 60,273 units in March, up 14% year-on-year and 36% sequentially, and 172,155 units in the first quarter, up 26% year-on-year. Despite positive sales growth, the Russian market does not appear to have performed as expected. Chery sold only 498 vehicles in Russia in March, down 79% year-on-year, and for comparison, Haval and Geely sold 1,573 and 1,492 vehicles in Russia in the same month, 3.1 times and 2.9 times, respectively.
It is worth mentioning that the main sales model Chery Tiggo 8 series is still very hot, with sales of 41,066 units (including overseas) in the first quarter, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year. In addition, due to the domestic chip shortage and repeated epidemics, Geely (down 7%) and Haval (down 25%) showed a downward trend year-on-year growth, while Chery showed positive growth.
At the end of March, Chery launched a new hybrid SUV Tiggo 8 PLUS hybrid version, 100 kilometers of comprehensive fuel consumption of 1L, more fuel-efficient than the same 1.5T hybrid Song PLUS DM-i (1.1L/100km), in addition to its price is also 50,000 yuan lower than the same power Song PLUS DM-i. At the end of April, Chery will also launch the Tiggo 8 PRO version, with a pre-sale price of 12.59-16.99 million yuan, and competitors include Changan CS75PLUS.
