As early as a year ago, Apple supply chain leader Luxshare Precision signed the "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement" with Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd., Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and Chery New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. in Wuhu: the two parties intend to jointly establish a joint venture company to engage in the research and development and manufacturing of new energy vehicles, of which Luxshare Precision holds 30% and Chery New Energy holds 70%.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement signed by the two parties also includes an exclusive business, that is, Chery can no longer cooperate with other automobile OEMs to manufacture car business, but Chery can independently OEM business or cooperate with automobile brand enterprises in OEM business.
As a result, the outside world believes that this move may be Luxshare Precision and Chery Group joining forces to prepare for the OEM Apple Car.
However, for the matter of car manufacturing, Luxshare Precision has previously publicly denied the statement of "car manufacturing", and its chairman has publicly stated that the company does not build cars, but cooperates with Chery to develop a new industry, that is, the vehicle ODM model.
However, Apple's car "foundry" has not yet been settled, since the establishment of the Apple Car project, there have been rumors of cooperation with Hyundai Group, Toyota Motor, and SK, LG battery manufacturers, but Apple only signed a cooperation agreement with Volkswagen in 2018.
