Recently, foreign media exposed the physical image of the next generation EPYC (Xiaolong) "Genoa" enterprise processor, which is the first picture of AMD Socket SP5. It is reported that "Genoa" will be AMD's first server product with a "Zen 4" price and next-generation I/O, including DDR5 memory and PCI-Express Gen 5. The SP5, like its predecessor, the SP3, uses an (LGA) socket and has 6,096 pins.

It is reported that "Genoa" supports a 12-channel DDR5 memory interface, including 128 PCI-Express 5.0 channels. The socket retention mechanism and processor installation process look similar to the SP3, but the SP5 requires a new heatsink, with the TDP expected to be as high as 400 W, compared to the TDP of the current generation EPYC platform "Milan." Processor with a TDP of 280 W. AMD expects to launch EPYC "Genoa" in the second half of 2022.
