The world's first DDR4+DDR5 dual memory motherboard was born!

Intel 12th generation Core supports both DDR4 and DDR5 memory, but each motherboard manufacturer invariably supports DDR4 or DDR5, none of which has two slots, and in the DDR3/DDR4 transition era, there are many motherboards that support both memory.

Until today, such a motherboard has finally appeared, but unfortunately there is something different.

Onda low-key released an "H610M+", based on the Intel H610 chipset, supporting 12th generation Core, up to i7, memory slot has a DDR4, a DDR5, the highest frequency is 3200MHz, 4800MHz, the maximum capacity of 32GB.

Unfortunately, users who really want to use DDR5 memory will not choose this entry-level motherboard, and both kinds of memory can only be used, and even a dual channel cannot be achieved.

If only anyone could do it on the Z690 motherboard and have two on each...

In other respects, the size of the board is also very common: mATX small form factor, 8 power phase circuit (no heatsink), 24 +8 pin power supply interface, three SATA 6Gbps hard disk interfaces, one M.2 SSD slot (support pcIe 3.0 x4), one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe x1 expansion slot, Gigabit network card (reserved M.2 wireless card slot), VGA+HDMI output interface, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 interfaces, Three audio ports.

However, there is a point that is the characteristics of Onda, that is, the "PECVD" protection process technology, it is said that it can have higher splash-proof, dust-proof, moisture-proof, salt spray-proof, anti-aging, corrosion-resistant and other capabilities than other motherboards, so that the motherboard can be used more durable and have a longer life.

Prices are currently unknown.

In the second half of this year, Intel will launch the Raptor Lake 13th generation Core, and there will also be a 700 series chipset, theoretically continuing to support DDR4 and DDR5 at the same time.

However, Intel strongly requires motherboard manufacturers to support only DDR5 memory on chipset motherboards based on the 700 series, avoiding support for DDR4, thereby speeding up the transition to DDR5 memory.

Some analysts believe that the DDR4 memory bandwidth cannot meet the performance standards of the 13th generation Core, which limits the performance of some scenarios (especially graphics and games).

The DDR5 memory bandwidth is higher, more able to play the performance of the 13th generation Core, plus the Raptor Lake will support DDR5-5600, which will be a certain improvement over the existing Alder Lake that supports DDR5-4800.

DDR4 and DDR5 motherboards in terms of memory support, UEFI code is completely different, motherboard manufacturers will spend more time to adapt to the design of two different memory, which may also allow manufacturers to reduce the number of models that support DDR4 in the motherboards of the 700 series chipset.

According to the previously exposed news, the Raptor Lake architecture has not changed much, and the 600 series chipset motherboards that currently use the DDR4 memory slot may also support 13th generation Core processors.

While Intel has made demands on motherboard manufacturers, individual brands may not necessarily comply with this condition based on past experience.
