Hello everyone! I'm Shen Shao! Today, we bring the installation test content of a new motherboard, which is the flagship choice of the CVN series just released by Colorful Rainbow, CVN Z790D5 ARK FROZEN Ark motherboard.
This motherboard is not only equipped with the current top Z790 chipset in the Intel camp, but also is very willing to pile up materials in terms of power supply design, memory overclocking, workmanship materials and expansion capabilities. Coupled with the off-white appearance and rich heat dissipation armor, the comprehensive cost performance is quite outstanding, and we will take a detailed look at it in combination with the unboxing of the product.
Unboxing & Appearance Analysis
The packaging design of the motherboard is still the familiar formula of Rainbow, the right side is the main view of the product, the upper left corner is the series name CVN, and the lower left corner is the specific model ARK, which belongs to FROZEN, using Z790D5 specifications. The bottom right corner is some of the core selling points, which are quite intuitive.
Continue to open the box, and you can see a pretty good motherboard body protected by hard cardboard and anti-static bag.
The black box above is the antenna of Wi-Fi 6E, and some friends said that they couldn't find where the antenna was when they bought the motherboard, so they may have ignored this location.
Take the motherboard out and take a look. First of all, in terms of appearance, this motherboard is not one of the current flagship choices of the CVN series, and it is still different from the silver-white style of several other CVN products. Instead, it adopts a more durable titanium gray frost cooling armor + white PCB design, which is simple but not simple, and I personally think it is quite attractive.
There is also a personalized PCB coating on the back, the big "79" is quite handsome, and the workmanship details of each component and pin are also very reliable.
In terms of details, the armor above the one-piece IO also continues the colorful tradition, with the "79" logo, indicating that this motherboard is the foundation of the Z790 chipset.
In terms of performance, the memory overclocking strength of this motherboard should also be the best among all the motherboards of the current Rainbow series. The four-slot design also nominally supports high frequencies up to 7800+ MHz (OC). It also supports XMP memory overclocking technology and manual overclocking, which is suitable for users with different goals and overclocking experience.
In terms of CPU power supply, 14+1+1 phase digital power supply, core 90A DrMos, chip tantalum polymer capacitor, and 8+8Pin power supply interface are all relatively oversized configurations in motherboards at the same price, which can easily drive flagship CPUs like i9-14900K.
There are 4 PCIe slots, which are a PCIe 5.0 graphics card slot with all-metal reinforcement and 1 PCIe 4.0 x16 slot.
and additional PCIe 4.0 x4 open expansion slots (you can install sound cards, 10 Gigabit LAN cards and other boards).
The storage ports are 4 PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSD slots + 4 SATA ports.
The SATA interface is also designed vertically, making it easier to walk the back cable.
Coupled with the front and rear dual high-speed Type-C (the front supports 30W PD), the expansion ability is also leveraged.
In terms of IO interface, in addition to the abundant USB interface and HDMI + DP video interface are expected, the rear Type-C interface has also reached an ultra-high speed of 20 Gbps, and with the corresponding PSSD, the transmission speed is twice as fast as the mainstream 10 Gbps interface.
Three 5V ARGB headers, two 12V RGB headers, four 4-pin PWM fan connectors, and one 4-pin PWM water pump connector also allow this motherboard to support mainstream fans, water cooling, and sea view room installation solutions with multiple RGB fans.
There is also a debug digital display screen on the motherboard、RGB independent switch lever、Side atmosphere light strip,Just looking at these configurations,I thought that at this time I was the top flagship motherboard of the iGame series。
brief summary
Generally speaking,As the flagship motherboard of the current Colorful CVN series,Colorful CVN Z790D5 Ark does do a lot from the design,To the workmanship materials,And then to the expansibility and function,Considering the initial price of only 1599 yuan,The cost performance is very good,It is very suitable for everyone to build a high-performance PC host from the high-end to the flagship positioning of the Intel platform。
Next, I will also do a set of actual installations to see the actual performance of this motherboard, please look forward to it if you are interested!
