Windows 11 version 22H2 "Sun Valley 2" is expected to refresh many of the older UIs with a WinUI overhaul and change many of the main elements of the Windows interface. So 2022 will also be an exciting year for Windows fans.

In Windows 11 Preview Build 22572, Microsoft is testing a modern dialog UI with built-in printing capabilities that can be launched through native applications such as Notepad. When users print documents using Notepad or WordPad, they see a modern interface based on WinUI and fluid design principles that align with the rest of Windows 11' UI.

Unlike Word, applications like Notepad rely on Windows' built-in Print dialog box, which allows users to create PDFs or print text using connected hardware.

The redesigned dialog box is part of the Windows Preview program. In addition to the modern print dialog, Microsoft is also testing the new Windows Android subsystem and a bunch of taskbar improvements, including a floating system tray icon.

These features are currently only available in the Insider Preview program, but they are expected to be available to everyone later this year as part of a major update to Sun Valley 2.
