On February 8, the Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued the Notice of Guangzhou Key Project Plan for 2022. In 2022, there will be a total of 650 key construction projects in Guangzhou, with an annual planned investment of 345.2 billion yuan. Among them, there are 21 key projects in the intelligent and new energy automobile industry, with a total investment of 41.9 billion yuan.

Xiaopeng Automobile, the first echelon of the new car-making force, is a large number of players in the key projects in Guangzhou, and the investment amount of Xiaopeng Passenger Vehicle Base Project and Xiaopeng Science and Technology Park is 10 billion yuan and 4 billion yuan respectively.

Intelligent and connected new energy vehicles are the strategic pillar industries of Guangzhou. According to the "Notice", in 2022, Guangzhou will have four major new energy vehicle production capacity construction projects, involving a total production capacity of 720,000 vehicles, namely GAC Toyota's production capacity expansion of 200,000 units, GAC's own brand passenger car production capacity expansion of 200,000 units, GAC Honda's production capacity expansion of 120,000 units, and GAC's E'an Second Plant 200,000 units.

In addition to the whole vehicle, the power battery also has 2 major projects, the Times GAC Power Battery Construction Project plans to build a 12Gwh/year battery cell and CTP battery pack supply capacity, and gac Aeon's independent battery production and manufacturing project will build a power battery production line with a capacity of 0.4GWh. Hyundai's hydrogen fuel cell system/stack construction project will also bring vitality to the fuel cell vehicle industry chain.

It is also worth noting that the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Demonstration Zone located in Huadu District is expected to be completed in 2024, which means further improving the layout of intelligent connected vehicles.
