The same seems to be true of today's poetry scene. Polite, insincerely boasting a few words, not polite, whether good or bad, belittled a meal.
In the era of the poet Saint Du Fu, famous artists came out one after another, and there were many poets who interacted with Du Fu. From the poems of The Poet Saint Du Fu, we can see that he is not stingy in his evaluation of poets.
First, there is no resentment, and the waves are old
In the eleventh year of Tianbao, Du Fu composed the law "Tribute to Zheng Zhiyi Ten Rhymes":
The counselor is not unattainable, and the poetry is well-known. The origin of the break, the pioneer dares to fight.
Outside the clouds, the ghosts in the law are frightened. There is no resentment, no waves.

At that time, the traitorous minister Li Linfu was in power, and Zheng Zhiyi, as an advisor, probably did not dare to rush into the advice, so Du Fu only praised his poetry for its good writing.
How good is it?
Thoughts drifted and the clouds moved, and the ghosts in the law were frightened. There is no resentment, no waves.
The literary thinking is fluttering, the poetry is rigorous, the words are careful, and the rules are sophisticated.

Gao Shi and Cen Shan were Du Fu's colleagues and friends, and in the eleventh year of Tianbao (752, two years before the Anshi Rebellion), Du Fu, Cen Shan, Gao Shi, and others also climbed the ci'en Temple pagoda in Chang'an together, and wrote poems that have been passed down to this day.
After the Anshi Rebellion, Cen Shan, Du Fu, and Wang Wei once sang and Jia Zhi's "Early Dynasty Daming Palace Presents Two Provincial Friends".
Excerpt from Du Fu's "Thirty-five Envoys to Pengzhou Gao Thirty-Five Envoys Junshi Prefecture Cen Twenty-Seven Long History Reference Thirty Rhymes":
Gao Censhu walked slowly, and Shen Baode walked along. The meaning is flying, and the end of the article is confused.
Du Fu compared Gao Shi and Cen Shan to the Southern Dynasty poets Shen Yue and Bao Zhao, and the idols of Tang Dynasty poets were the great poets of the Six Dynasties, and this analogy is the praise of Gao Shi and Cen Shan.
The poem about the two is: The meaning of the pass is flying, and the end of the article is confused. However, the Qing Dynasty poet Yang Lun said that these two evaluations, in fact, others really can't reach, and are used to praise Du Fu himself:

Third, the pen fell in a storm, and the poem became a weeping ghost god
Li Bai is a superstar of Sheng Tang Dynasty, and he was already famous all over the world when he was alive. Du Fu was thirteen years younger than Li Bai, and long after his death, his position in the poetry world gradually became on par with Li Bai's.
In the summer of the third year of Tianbao (744 AD), the two met for the first time in the eastern capital luoyang, when Du Fu was only 32 years old and Li Bai was 43 years old.
Du Fu often wrote poems praising Li Bai, such as Tianbao Wuzai (746) "Spring Remembrance of Li Bai":
Bai Ye poetry is invincible, floating in thought.
Fresh Yu Kai Province, Junyi Bao joined the army.
In the second year of Qianyuan (759), Li Bai exiled Yelang, and Du Fu said in "Sending Li Twelve White Twenty Rhymes":

The Tang and Song Dynasties commented:
The pen fell in a storm. Bai Shi is worthy of his words. The poem becomes a weeping ghost god. Poetry is deserved.
The Tang and Song Dynasties is an anthology of the six poets selected by the Qianlong Dynasty, and the chief editor is Ji Xiaolan. They commented that Du Fu's praise for Li Bai's "pen falling into a storm" was appropriate, but the five words of "poetry into weeping ghosts and gods" are actually more suitable to describe Du Fu himself.
Li Bai dropped his pen, and the verses had a sense of wind and rain. Du Fu's poems were completed, which touched the ghosts and gods.
Fourth, the beauty of celebrities is not up to, how good syntax
Du Fu has poems written to Gao Shi alone, "Sending Gao Thirty-Five Secretaries" poem Yun:
Sighing at the high birth and old age, there are many new poetry days. Beauty celebrities are not enough, how good syntax.
The Lord will reap the talents, and the triumph of the Kun Dynasty. Wen Jun has been blessed, and he has been comforted.
In the autumn and winter of the eleventh year of Tianbao (752), Gao Shi defected to Hexi Jiedu to make Ge Shuhan the secretary of the government. Therefore, the poem says, "Wen Jun has been Zhu Qi".
Du Fu's poem says that Gao Shi is getting older (forty-nine years old), but there are many new works. A good reputation is beyond the reach of anyone. And praise for the good syntax in the high-grade poems.
Conclusion
In Ge Changzhi's "Rhymes with Yang Qiu", du Fu's way of praising other poets is mentioned:
The poet praises the psalms of comrades, such as dobby pearl jade, splendid flowers and plants, and so on, to Du Gong, how can he do this cliché. The poem "Send Cen Shan" (送岑參) poem Yun: "The meaning of the pass is flying, and the end of the chapter is confused (after a short)... All amazing words also.
