Recently, KTM is testing a new 890 Adventure model, and the 890 ADV currently has two options, either the basic version of the 890 Adventure or the wild 890 Adventure R. The latest model is the road-oriented version of the 890 Adventure S (above), with road tires at the front and rear, which looks a lot like the design of a street car, but the fuel tanks on both sides of the engine confirm its identity.

The S version differs from the other two versions of the 890 ADV in that it features an integrated seat cushion design that looks bulky with the new front and side brackets. The front part of the car is not equipped with a windshield, but it is possible to see the bracket reserved for the windshield, and the handle guard is also equipped.

In addition, a facelift of the KTM 890 ADV R version has also been exposed, the most obvious change is the new fairing. The headlights and side brackets of the current model are separated, while the new model is connected together. The side panels now extend all the way to the headlights, and the new windshield area is larger, with increased height and width. Most strikingly, there are two spotlight-like designs on both sides of the front, which is also the first appearance on the 890 ADV model.

The fuel tanks on both sides of the redesigned model were also adjusted to the appearance in order to adapt to the new design, and the side brackets were extended until they were connected to the fuel tanks on both sides. The area of the new engine lower skid plate is increased, and the aluminum alloy lower skid plate is diffused to both sides, covering the bottom of the entire fuel tank, providing better protection.

In addition to the above changes, we were able to dimly see a new full-color gauge behind the windshield, the wire spoke wheels for the front 21 inches and the rear 18 inches, which seemed to be equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires, and the off-road style high fenders were also retained.

The rearing and exhaust units as well as the chassis and engine also appear to remain as they are, and the unchanged exhaust also suggests that while KTM is developing a larger displacement "990" twin-cylinder engine, it is not suitable for this updated Adventure.

Both the base model and the new "S" version use the WP Apex suspension, while the "R version" uses the higher-spec WP Xplor kit. The upgraded 890 Adventure series is likely to debut later this year as a 2023 model.
