Central Cyberspace Administration of China: By the end of 2021, the number of active IPv6 users in China will exceed 600 million

According to the news of China Netinfo On January 28, the development of IPv6 in mainland China has made significant progress in 2021. Monitoring data shows that as of the end of December 2021, the number of active IPv6 users on the mainland reached 608 million, accounting for 60.11% of the total number of Internet users.

At the same time, the number of IPv6 connections in the Internet of Things reached 140 million, the IPv6 traffic of mobile networks accounted for 35.15%, the IPv6 traffic of fixed networks accounted for 9.38%, the IPv6 support rate of home wireless routers reached 16%, the IPv6 support rate of government portals reached 81.8%, and the IPv6 support rate of major commercial websites and mobile Internet applications reached 80.7%. The main annual indicators were exceeded and showed a good momentum of development.

In addition, monitoring shows that as of the end of December 2021, 200 mobile applications (APPS) used by mainland netizens with high frequency support IPv6 access, with an average IPv6 traffic accounting for 52.89%, of which 87 APP IPv6 traffic accounted for more than 65%.

However, monitoring also shows that there are still some APP transformation and upgrading slowly, and the proportion of IPv6 traffic is relatively low.
