It is understood that the "Work Arrangement" clarifies the work goals for 2022: by the end of 2022, the number of active IPv6 users will reach 700 million, the number of Internet of Things IPv6 connections will reach 180 million, the proportion of fixed network IPv6 traffic will reach 13%, and the proportion of mobile network IPv6 traffic will reach 45%. The carrying capacity and service quality of network and application infrastructure continue to improve, and the performance indicators of IPv6 networks are comparable to those of IPv4, and some indicators are better than those of IPv4. Application infrastructure such as data centers, content delivery networks, cloud platforms, and domain name resolution systems supportS to support IPv6 services. The new home wireless router fully supports IPv6 and enables IPv6 address assignment by default. The "IPv6+" technology ecosystem is more perfect, and the field of industry integration application continues to expand. The IPv6 support rate of government portals at or above the county level has reached 85%, and the IPv6 support rate of major domestic commercial websites and mobile Internet applications has reached 85%. 7, IPv6 network security protection capabilities have been greatly improved.

As of December 2021, the backbone networks, LTE mobile networks and data center equipment of the three major operators in mainland China have all supported IPv6, and 95% of the domestic content distribution network (CDN) nodes support IPv6. Among the websites of central ministries and provincial governments, the central key news websites, the central enterprise websites, and the double-first-class university websites, the number of websites accessible to IPv6 on the homepage accounts for 96%, 100%, 82% and 86% respectively, and all the commercial Internet applications in the top 100 domestic users can be accessed through IPv6.

Earlier, Wu Hequan, director of the Expert Committee for Promoting IPv6 Scale Deployment and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, mentioned in his published article that there is still a gap between the mainland's IPv6 scale deployment and the world's advanced level. "In terms of the proportion of IPv6 traffic, as of December 2021, IPv6 traffic in the LTE core network accounts for 35.15% of the national LTE network, and in view of the fact that LTE terminals already have IPv6 capabilities, it is necessary to deepen the IPv6 transformation of mobile Internet applications and increase the proportion of IPv6 traffic in LTE networks." In the metropolitan area network, the gap is large, and the total traffic of IPv6 accounts for only 9.38% of the total traffic of the whole network, mainly because the upgrade of the home gateway has not kept up. The inflow traffic of international entrances and exits is much higher than that of outflow traffic, reflecting that at present, the domestic IPv6 content sources in the mainland are still small, and more IPv6 resources come from abroad, and the follow-up needs to vigorously develop IPv6 application services to change the situation of traffic inversion. ”

In March this year, the Central Cyberspace Administration and 12 other departments jointly issued a notice confirming the pilot list of IPv6 technology innovation and integration applications, with a total of 22 comprehensive pilot cities and 96 pilot projects. Among them, 96 pilot projects focus on seven directions, such as "IPv6 Technology Innovation and Industrial Development", "IPv6 Single-stack Deployment Application", and "Simultaneous Implementation of IPv6 and 5G Construction Applications".

Ten key tasks

In addition, the "Work Arrangement" deploys ten key tasks:

The first is to strengthen the network carrying capacity. Including continuously optimizing IPv6 network performance, deepening IPv6 network interconnection, exploring and promoting the deployment of IPv6 single-stack and SRv6 technology on the live network, accelerating the upgrading and transformation of radio and television networks, improving the end-to-end IPv6 support capabilities of Internet television (IPTV) services, and improving the network performance and carrying capacity of the teaching and research network (CERNET2).

The second is to improve terminal support capabilities. Including improving the IPv6 support capabilities of home network terminals, improving the IPv6 industry ecology of smart homes, and further promoting the large-scale deployment and application of IoT IPv6.

The third is to optimize the performance of application facilities. Including strengthening the promotion and application of IPv6 on the cloud platform, increasing the proportion of IPv6 traffic in content distribution networks, strengthening the IPv6 support capabilities of data centers and domain name resolution systems, and carrying out IPv6 end-to-end quality testing and verification.

The fourth is to expand the integration and application of the industry. Including deepening the transformation of the central enterprise industry system IPv6, improving the IPv6 support capabilities and innovative application level of financial institutions, accelerating the upgrading and transformation of the industrial Internet platform IPv6, promoting the upgrading and transformation of agricultural and rural informatization IPv6, deepening the transformation of social informatization IPv6, promoting the application of IPv6 in transportation digital facilities, deepening the deployment and application of IPv6 in the water conservancy industry, increasing the transformation of IPv6 informatization of natural resources and ecological environment, promoting emergency management business systems and terminal support for IPv6, Carry out the transformation and upgrading of IPv6 for the unified Internet export of electric power enterprises, and promote the application of IPv6 in the all-media communication system。

Fifth, accelerate the application and transformation of government affairs. Including improving the IPv6 support capabilities of the government service platform and the government extranet, and expanding the breadth and depth of IPv6 transformation of government websites and government mobile clients.

Sixth, deepen the deployment of commercial applications. Including promoting the drainage of IPv6 amplification for large-scale commercial applications, in-depth evaluation and notification of IPv6 support for commercial applications, and strengthening the management of IPv6 entrances for application distribution platforms and telecom services.

The seventh is to strengthen the construction of innovation ecology. Including improving the "IPv6+" technology industry ecosystem, deepening the integration and development of IPv6 and new technologies and new applications and new scenarios, and strengthening the innovation and research of new Internet architectures.

The eighth is to promote the formulation of standards and norms. Including the overall promotion of the formulation and implementation of IPv6 standards, the implementation of IPv6 support certification in the field of smart home appliances, and active participation in the formulation of next-generation Internet international standards.

The ninth is to strengthen security guarantees. Including accelerating the research and development and application of key IPv6 security technologies, improving IPv6 network security protection and monitoring and early warning capabilities, and strengthening IPv6 network security management and supervision and inspection.

Ten is to strengthen overall planning and coordination. Including giving full play to the role of the in-depth promotion of IPv6 scale deployment and application coordination mechanism, strengthening IPv6 address planning, solidly carrying out the pilot implementation of IPv6 technology innovation and converged applications, and increasing the promotion of IPv6 online.
