In 2021, the IPv6 traffic of 87 apps in China will account for more than 65%

All kinds of internet information enterprises play the main role, continue to improve the breadth and depth of IPv6 applications, accelerate the construction of IPv6 innovation industry ecology, and continuously enhance endogenous power.

Monitoring data shows that as of the end of December 2021, the number of active IPv6 users on the mainland reached 608 million, accounting for 60.11% of the total number of Internet users. The number of IoT IPv6 connections reached 140 million, mobile network IPv6 traffic accounted for 35.15%, fixed network IPv6 traffic accounted for 9.38%, home wireless router IPv6 support rate reached 16%, government portal IPv6 support rate reached 81.8%, major business websites and mobile Internet applications IPv6 support rate reached 80.7%. The main annual indicators were exceeded and showed a good momentum of development.

Network facilities and end devices are key to the end-to-end interface of IPv6. At present, China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom have completed the upgrading of backbone network, metropolitan area network and LTE network IPv6, the new 5G network fully supports IPv6, and the backbone direct connection points have achieved IPv6 interconnection. Data centers and domain name systems basically support IPv6, and content delivery networks (CDNs) and cloud service platforms have IPv6 service capabilities. Mainstream 4G/5G mobile terminals in the market support IPv6, and more than 80% of the home gateways issued by basic telecom companies for broadband users have obtained IPv6 addresses.

Accelerating the upgrading and transformation of Internet business applications is one of the key tasks to promote IPv6 scale deployment and application. Monitoring shows that as of the end of December 2021, 200 mobile applications (apps) with high frequency of use by mainland netizens all support IPv6 access, with an average IPv6 traffic accounting for 52.89%, of which 87 apps account for more than 65% of IPv6 traffic, the list is as follows:

Monitoring shows that there are still some apps that are slow to be upgraded and have a relatively low proportion of IPv6 traffic.
