The three major operators issued quarterly reports for the first quarter of 2022, and the most noteworthy numbers

Recently, the three major telecom operators have released financial and operational data for the first quarter of 2022. Among them, there are several sets of numbers that deserve attention.

1. The quarterly revenue of the three major operators has increased significantly.

China Mobile's operating income in the quarter was 227.3 billion yuan, an increase of 14.6% year-on-year, of which the main business income was 193.8 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1% year-on-year.

China Telecom's operating income in the current quarter was 119.629 billion yuan, an increase of 11.94% year-on-year, of which service revenue was 110.024 billion yuan, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year.

China Unicom's operating income in the quarter was 89.022 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year, of which service revenue was 81.197 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8% year-on-year.

2. The net profit of China Unicom Telecom increased significantly, and the sales of mobile affected terminals.

China Mobile's quarterly profit was 25.6 billion yuan, up 6.5% year-on-year. Other business revenue of 33.5 billion yuan, an increase of 61.6% year-on-year, mainly due to the substantial increase in mobile phone sales, which became an important reason for the decline in China Mobile's profit margin.

China Telecom's quarterly profit was 7.223 billion yuan, an increase of 12.14% year-on-year. Other operating expenses increased by 24.3% year-on-year, mainly due to sales of mobile terminal products such as 5G mobile phones.

China Unicom's quarterly profit was 4.634 billion yuan, an increase of 20.6% year-on-year. Revenue from sales of communication products decreased by 6.3% year-on-year. Reducing the revenue of communication products, a large proportion of the profit growth comes from the revenue of communication products with low gross margin.

Due to the low gross margin of sales of terminal products, mobile telecoms sell more, and the lower the overall profit margin is pulled. China Unicom sold fewer terminals and its profit margin rose sharply.

China Mobile's DICT and business revenue was 23.7 billion yuan, an increase of 50.9% year-on-year.

China Telecom's industrial digital business accelerated its growth, with revenue reaching 29.414 billion yuan, an increase of 23.2% year-on-year.
