China Telecom is committed to the construction of application platforms to solve the blind spots of digital rural development

With the advent of the 5G era, the "modern city" that was once slightly science fiction has become a reality. While the country's digitalization is vigorously developing, the pace of urban-rural integration development cannot be left behind.

The development of intelligent digitalization in rural areas is the core part of the development of the information society and the digital economy, and it is also a key link in the work of poverty alleviation. However, there are still many uncertainties in the development of digital villages, and solving these blind spots requires the promotion of telecom operators.

The "2022 Digital Rural Development Work Points" was released

According to the China Internet Information Network, the Central Cyberspace Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Rural Revitalization Bureau recently jointly issued the "2022 Digital Rural Development Work Points" (hereinafter referred to as the "Work Points"), clarifying the work goals: By the end of 2022, the construction of digital villages will make new and greater progress. Digital technology strongly supports the basic agricultural market to be more stable, and the results of poverty alleviation are further consolidated.

According to the "Key Points of Work", under the continuous improvement of the rural digital governance system, the information service for the benefit of the people continues to deepen, the digital literacy and skills of farmers are effectively improved, and the pilot construction of digital villages will achieve initial results.

Digital technology can not only promote the digital transformation of traditional agricultural production, operation and trading, improve production efficiency, and optimize the product supply structure, but also promote the innovative practice of new models, new formats and new supply of rural information consumption, such as live streaming with goods, short videos, rural cultural tourism homestays, inclusive digital finance, etc., and break the barriers of uneven geographical distribution of urban and rural economic opportunities.

Digital rural development still faces many blind spots

Promoting rural digitalization is the only way to improve the closed loop of digital economic development. This year's No. 1 document of the Central Committee clearly proposes to "vigorously promote the construction of digital villages", with a total of six specific contents: take the information infrastructure as the digital base to consolidate the foundation for the development of digital villages. To promote the development of smart agriculture as the starting point, to achieve the digitalization of agricultural production. Using digital technology empowerment as a means to realize the digitization of rural management services. Taking the application scenario as a breakthrough, we seek the best solution for digital villages. Taking the solution of local construction concerns as the starting point, we will simultaneously promote the construction of digital rural pilots and standard systems. To improve farmers' digital literacy as a means, so that farmers can fully enjoy the dividends of digital reform.

Six short sentences, but cover a wealth of content, but also said that the construction of digital villages is not easy. Referring to the current development of digital villages, Zhao Gang, president of Saizhi Industry Research Institute, believes that "the digital infrastructure of rural areas in the mainland has played a huge role in promoting the digital development of rural areas, but compared with cities, it still faces problems such as more blind spots, slow upgrading, and fewer applications." Zhao Gang said that around the huge application demand for rural revitalization, telecom operators should promote the synchronous planning and construction of urban and rural areas.

China Telecom continues to cultivate rural applications

As one of the three major operators, China Telecom has also been contributing to the construction of digital villages in recent years. It is reported that China Telecom has achieved the network coverage target of 98% in rural areas, effectively narrowing the urban-rural digital divide.

In terms of helping the digitalization and intelligent transformation of rural areas, China Telecom has deeply cultivated rural application platforms in recent years, such as the development of a digital rural comprehensive service platform "Village Village Enjoyment" independently developed by using the advantages of "cloud network". According to the Economic Information Daily, at present, the platform has been promoted and applied in 28 provinces, 1169 counties and 48706 villages across the country.

Recently, in Guangdong, China Telecom Guangdong Fogang Branch signed a digital rural smart screen handover confirmation letter with 6 towns in Fogang County, providing more than 100 sets of digital rural smart screens and "cloud broadcasting" sound pillars to 6 towns.

In Zhejiang, China Telecom Zhejiang Company built the Zhejiang Provincial Smart Animal Husbandry Cloud Platform to empower the rural smart animal husbandry industry, and the "5G pig raising" segment was born.

In the future, China Telecom will continue to empower the construction of digital villages, so that rural residents can fully enjoy the dividends brought by digitalization.
